Abstract: A tube-line pressure sensor of a medical-appliance driving apparatus detects the interior pressure of a tube line. If the pressure detected by a tube-line pressure sensor is equal to or less than a predetermined value, a first solenoid valve is closed, while a second solenoid valve is opened, whereby a gas is supplied from a secondary gas tank to the tube line. The amount of gas supplied to the tube line is calculated based on a pressure change in the tank detected by a tank pressure sensor. In actual use, natural gas leakage during normal operation can be clearly distinguished from abnormal gas leakage due to an accident. The interior pressure of the tube line is detected at a time when the balloon is about to inflate from the deflated state, and a gas supply system supplies the driving gas to the tube line so that the detected pressure becomes a preset pressure value. A controller can change the preset pressure value.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel pyrimidoindole derivatives and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, in particular (+)-3,4-dihydro-5-methyl-2-[1-(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)ethyl]pyrimido-[1 ,6-a]indol-1(2H)-one or its hydrochloride, useful for their 5-hydroxytryptamine antagonism.

Abstract: A floating type composite magnetic head includes a head core fixed to a slider formed of nonmagnetic material. In the head core, a pair of magnetic core halves are abutted against each other with nonmagnetic material such as SiO.sub.2 or the like interposed therebetween. The first and second magnetic core half members have first and second gap forming surfaces to be abutted against each other to define a magnetic gap (g), respectively. A first groove is formed on the second gap forming surface. A glass layer is formed in the first groove. A first thin film including a ferromagnetic metal thin film is selectively formed on the first gap forming surface. A second thin film including a ferromagnetic metal thin film is selectively formed on the second gap forming surface so that at least a portion except the surface of the glass layer in the second gap forming surface is exposed. A second groove is formed on the exposed second gap forming surface adjacent to the first groove.

Abstract: A floating-type magnetic head comprising a slider and a core chip secured thereto. The core chip comprises a pair of core segments joined together with a gap spacer and a thin ferromagnetic metal film which are formed at the joint only over a portion of the entire area of the joint which portion terminates at the face of the core chip to be opposed to magnetic recording media. The two core segments area bonded to each other with glass present over the remaining portion of the joint area. In producing the magnetic head, the core chip is prepared by fabricating a core block comprising a pair of base plates joined together and strips of thin ferromagnetic metal film and gap spacer provided at the joint, and machining the core block.

Abstract: A process for producing a floating-type magnetic head comprising a head core and a slider by forming a glass layer over a core chip to cover the portion thereof to be opposed to a magnetic recording medium, and thereafter fitting the core chip into a core groove in a slider chip. The core chip is fittable into the groove without the likelihood of causing damage to the medium opposed portion since this portion is covered with the glass layer. The glass layer is melted to bond the core chip to the slider chip, and the assembly is machined to form a medium opposed face to complete the magnetic head.
