Abstract: 13-Oxabicyclo[10.3.0]pentadecane having the structural formula: ##STR1## its synthesis, its use as a perfumery agent and as an olefactant component in perfume compositions and as an odorant agent for technical products.

Abstract: A perfumery composition consisting essentially of from 1% to 50% by weight of a 4-isopropyl-5,5-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are individually members selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms and cyclopropyl, and the remainder customary constituents of perfumery compositions; as well as novel 4-isopropyl-5,5-dimethyl-1,3-dioxanes of the above formula wherein both R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are not simultaneously hydrogen.

Abstract: A perfumery composition consisting essentially of from 1% to 50% by weight of a trimethyl-tetrahydropyran-2-one selected from the group consisting of(1) 4,6,6-trimethyl-tetrahydropyran-2-one of the formula ##STR1## (2) 4,4,6-trimethyl-tetrahydropyran-2-one of the formula ##STR2## and (3) mixtures of (1) and (2),and the remainder customary constituents of perfumery compositions; as well as the method of imparting a pleasing odor utilizing said trimethyl-tetrahydropyran-2-ones.

Abstract: A perfumery composition consisting essentially of from 1% to 50% by weight of cis- and trans-trimethylcyclohexylethyl ethers of the formulae: ##STR1## and the remainder customary constituents of perfumery compositions; and a process for producing trans-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexylethyl ether by means of hydrogenation of 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexenylethyl ether with dry nickel catalysts at a temperature of 150.degree.-200.degree. C and at 10-200 bar hydrogen pressure and processing of the hydrogenation product in the conventional manner.

Abstract: 2-Methyl-2-alkyl-alkanoic acid esters of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a saturated or unsaturated, straight- or branched-chain aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are independently an alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, which compounds have a wide variety of pleasing and persistent fragrances, and perfume compositions containing them.

Abstract: A perfumery composition consisting essentially of from 1% to 50% by weight of an alkyl-substituted 1,4-dioxane of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is alkyl having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is hydrogen, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, when taken together, represent a bivalent radical selected from the group consisting of alkylene having from 3 to 12 carbon atoms and alkylalkylene having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl and from 3 to 12 carbon atoms in the alkylene, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are individually members selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and the remainder customary constituents of perfumery compositions, as well as novel 1,4-dioxanes of the above formula where either R.sub.3 or R.sub.4 or both are alkyl, or where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, taken together, are a bivalent radical.

Abstract: A perfumery composition consisting essentially of from 1% to 50% by weight of a 2,4-dioxa-spiro(5,5)undec-8-en of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are members selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and methyl, R.sub.4 is a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, methoxy, ethoxy, vinyl and 1-propenyl, R.sub.5 is a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 taken together are --(CH.sub.2).sub.n -- where n is an integer from 4 to 6, and the remainder, customary constituents of perfumery compositions. Some of the compounds are novel.

Abstract: Carbonic acid esters of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a member having from 8 to 12 carbon atoms selected from the group consisting of alkylcyclohexyl, alkenylcyclohexyl, alkynylcyclohexyl and cycloalkyl, and R.sub.2 is a member selected from the group consisting of alkyl having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, alkenyl having from 2 to 5 carbon atoms and alkynyl having from 2 to 5 carbon atoms, which compounds have pleasing and persistent scents, as well as processes for producing them and perfume compositions containing them.

Abstract: An odoriferous acetal having the formula ##EQU1## wherein R is a cycloalkyl having from 8 to 12 carbon atoms, R.sub.1 is a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and methyl, and R.sub.2 is a member selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, allyl and propargyl. These compounds have a woody amber odor and are useful in the preparation of scents.
