  • Patent number: 4929020
Abstract: The invention relates to a strut for a folding vehicle cover which bridges the roof width by being braced axially on load bearing connecting components on both sides of the vehicle by angled strut flanks, while a strut section driven by a spring loading arrangement is raisable in the strut plane relative to the braced ends of the strut flanks into a tensioned position in which the roof skin of the folding cover is stressed by the spring loading arrangement through the strut section, and while a further vertical displacement of the strut section is locked upon reaching a limit time position located above the tensioned position.

  • Patent number: 4917432
Abstract: The invention is concerned with a stiffening of a surface portion of a flexible roof skin of a vehicle, which comprises a reinforcing section arranged at the roof skin and matched flexurally elastically to a curve of the roof skin in the surface portion. To prevent the effect of so-called roof skin fluttering, the reinforcing section can be subjected to stress by means of a tensioning device in such a way that it can be changed from a bent position thereof to a more sharply curved tensioning position when the roof skin is closed.

  • Patent number: 4887065
Abstract: A control arrangement for a combined central locking and burglar alarm system for motor vehicles is constructed in such a manner that an accidentally tripped false alarm can be deactivated in a single manner by a designated key and a key detection switch associated with a door locking cylinder, so that the activation state of the burglar alarm system is automatically adapted to the existing locking state of the central locking system.

  • Patent number: 4848509
Abstract: A central locking system for motor vehicles, not only doors and tailgate and gas tank-cap lids, but also several flaps of containers arranged in the passenger space (gloveboxes, small luggage compartments). These locks can be released and locked jointly by a unitary switch signal, or for specific conditions, both the doors and lids and the flaps can respectively be locked and released separately in groups.

  • Patent number: 4815775
Abstract: The invention concerns a power-assisted lock for doors, hatches hoods or hard tops of vehicles and the like. In addition to a known pivotal latch and a catch for a releasable engagement with the pivotal latch there is a control disc pivotally mounted in the housing of the lock. A manual or power actuated drive means is attached to the control disc for the closing and opening operation. The pivotal latch and the control disc have a drive connection providing for limited play. The arrangement together with the catch leads to a locking of the control disc before a closing operation and an unlocking of the control disc by turning the pivotal latch during the closing operation of the lock. The pivotal latch has the usual pre-lock position.

  • Patent number: 4772054
Abstract: A door holder for motor vehicle doors includes a housing with guide tracks and detent recesses as well as a guide body secured at a holding strap whose balls mounted in a bushing and acted upon by a compression spring by way of intermediate plates engage in the detent recesses, whereby the bushing surrounds the balls beyond half of their height, and in which the bushing includes at half of its length within its bore a support part for the compression spring, and the guide tracks are extended beyond the detent recesses up to an end abutment.

  • Patent number: 4630330
Abstract: A fastening clip configured for rotation in a housing bore, the clip fashioned to house a beveled terminal region of a linkage of circular cross-section. So that the clip rotates spontaneously into a correct installation position during assembly of the linkage, a plurality of clip orifices are provided and the walls of an associated introductory channel are beveled so that an introductory bevel extends from every point on the edge of the clip to intersect a clip orifice.

  • Patent number: 4593544
Abstract: A central locking system with a two-door control for motor vehicles, in which certain locking operations are precluded in dependance on the position of the key of a starter switch of the driving engine. In order to prevent an unitentional locking of the vehicle doors under certain operating conditions, means are provided according to the present invention which enable a locking actuation of the central locking system exclusively by the interior actuating element of the driver door on the steering column side when the key is in the starter whereas only a mechanical locking of the individual front door on the passenger side is possible by way of the interior actuating element of this passenger door.
