  • Patent number: 5712049
Abstract: A sliding element has a bearing metallic layer made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy which bears on its side facing the sliding surface a galvanically produced tin layer bonded to the bearing metallic layer by a very thin alkaline, halogen-free layer of zinc, copper, nickel and iron immersion deposited on the bearing metallic layer. To produce such sliding element, a highly-alkaline immersion bath is used containing salts of zinc, nickel, copper and iron mainly cyanide-based. After the immersion treatment, the sliding element blank is rinsed with considerably carbonic acid-free deionized water. During a first tinning step, the sliding element is treated in a bath at a temperature between 20.degree. and 26.degree. C. with a current intensity from 2 to 3 amperes/dm.sup.2 and for a duration of exposure of at least one minute.

  • Patent number: 5560896
Abstract: Sodium percarbonate is produced by means of fluidized bed granulation. The process includes spraying an aqueous sodium carbonate solution and a hydrogen peroxide solution onto nuclei in a fluidized bed and evaporating the water. In the process of the invention, it is not necessary to use a phosphorus-containing crystallization inhibitor in order to avoid cloggings and incrustations in and on the nozzle. This is accomplished by spraying the solutions through separate channels in a single ternary atomizer nozzle, to provide external mixing of the solutions with respect to the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 5425575
Abstract: A valve whose valve stroke must be adjusted is provided with a throttle bore. The valve has a guide tube open on the bottom with a press-fit in a valve body through whose through bore the valve closing member of an armature received in a guide tube is accessible for engagement by a scanner pin of a measuring tool. After adjustment of the valve stroke, a throttle insert is introduced into the throttle bore of the valve body, using a double-lipped cuff. While an inner lip seals off the throttle insert in the valve body, an outer lip of the cuff, in cooperation with a housing receives the valve and takes on the function of a check valve. The valve is suitable for anti-lock and/or traction-control systems of motor vehicle brake systems.
