The connecting portion may be configured to connect a lower link of the wheel suspension. The shank portion may include a convex region that is bent away from the longitudinal axis. The convex region may provide clearance for a drive shaft of a wheel. The shank portion may be formed from at least two shell elements that are connected, in some cases welded, together along at least one longitudinal seam.
