  • Patent number: 6178182
Abstract: Given a transmission of digitized voice information (spi) compressed in originating communication systems (KS (S)) via a plurality of communication systems (KS) of a communication network (KN), the compressed voice information (spi′) is matched to the switching bit rate of the transit communication systems (KS (T)) in the systems and are switched compressed. By avoiding the decompression and repeated compression of compressed voice information (spi′), delay times and distortions of the voice information (spi) are reduced.

  • Patent number: 6160817
Abstract: A method for using narrowband performance features provided in broadband communications terminals, in broadband networks, includes switching respective connections to an interworking unit through the broadband network. Signaling information which is contained therein is transmitted to a logic narrowband switching unit and an item of narrowband control information is derived therefrom. In the interworking unit, that information is converted into an item of broadband control information and a physical broadband switching unit for switching the respective connection is thus set.

  • Patent number: 6047058
Abstract: A communication system includes at least two private branch exchanges which are each connected to a higher-level communication network and which are connected to one another through a hot-line link. A team-function controller in one private branch exchange performs a team function with respect to team terminals connected directly to that private branch exchange and with respect to team terminals, connected directly to the other private branch exchange, which are integrated into the team function in the form of remote subscribers through the hot-line link. Incoming calls to the team can reach the team controller through the network interface of the first communication system and through the network interface of the second communication system and a call diversion to the first communication system.

  • Patent number: 5638432
Abstract: Method for establishing a telecommunication connection wherein a calling party at a first telecommunication terminal station external to a private branch exchange (PBX) sets up a first connection to the PBX via a public telecommunication network and transmits information to the PBX which indicates, inter alia, a telephone number of a second telecommunication terminal station. In response, the PBX sets up a telecommunication connection between the first telecommunication terminal station and the second terminal station and, in addition, the PBX stores information relating to call charges resulting from the connection to the second terminal station.

  • Patent number: 5579385
Abstract: In the telecommunication network, telecommunication connections are directed from telecommunication terminal equipment on the transmission side (A) via an origin node (ON), via transit nodes (TN1, . . . TN7) to telecommunication terminal equipment on the reception side (B). An origin node number, the A call number, the destination node identity number and also the B call number are inserted into signalling information of the connection to be set up. In the nodes involved in the setup of the connection it is checked whether the A call number is to be modified. In some cases, the A call number may be supplemented and in other cases it may be supplemented and abbreviated.

  • Patent number: 5539742
Abstract: Telecommunication connections in a telecommunication network are directed from a telecommunication instrument (A) on the transmission side via an original node (ON) and transit nodes (TN1, . . . , TN7) to a telecommunication instrument (B) on the reception side. A number denoting the original node (ON), the A call number, the identity number of the target node and the B call number are inserted in signaling information for the telecommunication connection to be made. A test is performed in the nodes concerned in the connection on whether the A call number should be supplemented by the identity number of the node concerned. Such an addition to the A call number is done only in the original node. Thus the A call number can be simply assessed in the telecommunication instrument (B) on the reception side.

  • Patent number: 5537392
Abstract: In a meshed network, telecommunication calls from a transmitting-end telecommunication terminal (A) are routed via an originating node (ON), via transit nodes (TN1, . . . , TN7) and a destination node (DN) to a receiving-end telecommunication terminal (B). To prevent network loops, the node which is immediately next on the route is determined in transit nodes on the basis of the originating node number and on the basis of the destination node identification number. The node numbers of all the nodes passed through can be inserted into the signaling information assigned to the telecommunication call, the following node on the route also being determined on the basis of the node numbers.

  • Patent number: 5513258
Abstract: The controller of the switching system has a switching-oriented program that has two program parts allocated to it. A first program part is designed for processing call number information that has a first plurality of call number digit information. The second program part is designed for processing call number information that has a second, greater plurality of call number digit information. In the method of the invention, the call number plan of a private branch exchange is designed for a public switching system.
