  • Publication number: 20020196340
Abstract: When multiple cameras (CAM1) to (CAM8) for shooting the periphery of a local vehicle are mounted on the vehicle, and when obtained camera images are to be synthesized to display a synthesized image on the screen of a display device (16), the pixel data for the camera images constituting the synthesized image are compensated for, so that differences in the pixel data for adjacent camera images is reduced. For example, the pixel data are corrected so their values equal the average values of the pixel data for the adjacent camera images. Therefore, an easily viewed image, produced by synthesizing the images obtained by the multiple vehicle cameras, can be displayed on the monitor device (16).

  • Publication number: 20020190667
Abstract: In a discharge lamp apparatus, a metal case has a blind-end box-like configuration, and a ceramic board and a power MOS transistor of a DC/DC converter are mounted on an internal bottom surface of the metal case while a printed circuit board is mounted on an opening side of the metal case in a state separated from the power MOS transistor and the ceramic board in a thickness direction of the discharge lamp apparatus. On the ceramic board, there are mounted a discharge lamp control circuit for controlling power to a discharge lamp by switching the power MOS transistor and an H bridge circuit for forming a voltage to be applied to the discharge lamp into a pulse shape, and on the printed circuit board, there are mounted a high-tension coil for generating a voltage to be applied to the discharge lamp, and others. With this construction, the heat developed in the discharge lamp control circuit, the H bridge circuit and the power MOS transistor conducts efficiently to the metal case.

  • Publication number: 20020141757
Abstract: A movable rear-set lens of a camera has at least one flat peripheral region. A cam follower on the side of the flat peripheral region is located such that a predetermined space is formed on the side outward from the flat peripheral region. The predetermined space is ensured between a front-set lens and the rear-set lens when the rear-set lens takes a position optically closest to the front-set lens. An electrical wiring from a shutter section passes in the vicinity of the flat peripheral region and extends toward a camera main body. An electrical connecting section, at which a certain part of the electrical wiring and a wiring extending from a shutter actuating section associated with the shutter section are connected, is located within the predetermined space.

  • Publication number: 20020141754
Abstract: A lens shutter comprises shutter blades capable of moving within a shutter chamber of a camera to open and close a lens aperture. A stopper capable of entering into movement loci of the shutter blades selectively takes a position for aperture restriction that stops the shutter blades immediately before they reach positions for full opening of the lens aperture, or a position for restriction release that allows the shutter blades to reach the positions for full opening of the lens aperture. The stopper is urged by a spring toward the position for aperture restriction and is retracted by a releasing member to the position for restriction release when the lens aperture is to be fully opened.

  • Patent number: 6291945
Abstract: A lighting device for a discharge lamp includes a power supplying circuit for supplying electric power to the discharge lamp. A current sensing circuit is operative for sensing a lamp current which flows through the discharge lamp. A control circuit is operative for enabling the power supplying circuit to supply one of a direct-current electric power and a low-frequency electric power to the discharge lamp during a time interval in start of the discharge lamp. The control circuit is also operative for adjusting a duration time of supply of a one-polarity electric power to the discharge lamp in accordance with a magnitude of the lamp current sensed by the current sensing circuit. Further, the control circuit is operative for enabling the power supplying circuit to supply an alternating-current electric power to the discharge lamp after the time interval elapses.

  • Patent number: 6265674
Abstract: A terminal connecting structure between flexible board and printed circuit board for securely making connections thereof at a low cost. Width dimension W of each land portion 13a of a copper foil pattern 13 provided on a printed circuit board 10 is set to W=0.4 mm, and solders 15 are formed on the surface of the land portions 13a using a dip method. A flexible board 7 is placed on the printed circuit board 10 and the flexible board 7 is urged toward the printed circuit board 10 by an elastic member 5 so as to press each connecting terminal 9a of a circuit pattern 9 provided on the flexible board 7 into contact with the solder 15 of respective land portion 13a. By setting width dimension of each land portion to 0.6 mm or less and adhering solder to the surface thereof using a dip method, dispersion in height dimension among the solders becomes smaller.

  • Patent number: 6006736
Abstract: A method and apparatus for washing a sliced silicon ingot reduces the consumption of detergent used to clean the ingot after it is sliced to define individual semiconductor wafers. The ingot is taken as a unit mounted to a holder after slicing to a pre-washing machine. The machine sprays jets of warm to hot water onto the ingot and holder to flush away dust generated during the slicing procedure which has adhered to the ingot. The water spray removes much of the dust. Thus when the ingot is subsequently washed with detergent, less dust must be removed thereby increasing the effective performance life of a given quantity of detergent.

  • Patent number: 5880563
Abstract: When a discharge lamp repeatedly flickers out after illuminating for a long period of time because the same discharge lamp is nearing the end of its usage lifetime, a stored voltage of a capacitor rises gradually every time the discharge lamp flickers out. When the stored voltage of the same capacitor becomes no less than a predetermined voltage, a comparator generates a high level voltage which actuates a transistor. The transistor then terminates the operations of a PWM circuit to deactuate the discharge lamp.
