    Abstract: A connector including a contact member and a housing. The contact member includes a spring part having a length variable in an axial direction, and a contact part extending from an axial end of the spring part and adapted to be pushed against and electrically connected to a counterpart flat contact. The spring part includes a slanted meandering portion provided with a plurality of major arms spaced from each other in the axial direction and generally slanted with respect to the axial direction. The slanted meandering portion is adapted to be elastically deformed so as to narrow a space between the major arms by a contact pressure applied from the counterpart flat contact to the contact part. The contact part is adapted to be displaced so as to slide on the counterpart flat contact by an elastic deformation of the slanted meandering portion.
