  • Publication number: 20200280713
Abstract: The invention provides an imaging apparatus for minimizing performance degradation due to sensitivity correction while ensuring absolute accuracy of luminance and chromaticity of a subject. An imaging apparatus includes: a sensitivity correction unit which corrects sensitivity characteristics of at least two imaging units to be the same; a storage unit which stores a correction parameter in the sensitivity correction unit; and a luminance calculation unit which calculates a luminance value of a subject on the basis of the correction parameter stored in the storage unit and a shutter value of the imaging unit. Here, the sensitivity correction unit corrects sensitivity characteristics of the at least two imaging units to match the sensitivity characteristic of the imaging unit having the highest sensitivity.

  • Patent number: 8687148
Abstract: The present invention enables a liquid crystal display device using LEDs as a light source to reduce uneven brightness, increase efficiency of heat discharged from the LEDs, and provide area brightness control. The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel and a backlight. The backlight includes a light guide panel and a plurality of LEDs arranged on a line. The light guide panel includes a concave portion extending in a longitudinal direction of the light guide panel. A large number of LEDs are placed in the concave portion of the light guide panel. The plurality of LEDs arranged on a line emit light alternately in opposite directions. This configuration allows for uniform brightness distribution without forming a large number of concave portions in the light guide panel. Further, this configuration also allows for area brightness control by controlling a large number of LEDs by group.

  • Patent number: 8325292
Abstract: A backlight unit having a LED light source which includes a light guide plate partitioned in areas having a tapered shape formed of a thick and thin portion. The light guide plate forms a thick and thin portion repeated at certain intervals, and the repeated thick portions and the repeated thin portions gradually decrease in thickness. The LED light source is attached to a lateral side of thick portions. Grooves are formed in the light irradiation direction of the LED light source and in a direction perpendicularly intersecting the light irradiation direction. Each of the grooves is formed in an concave shape. There is a relation 0.2/30<=W/D<0.1 where D denotes the distance between the light guide plate and a light diffusion plate, and W denotes the width of each of the grooves. An inclination angle ? relative to the center of each of the grooves is between 9 and 15 degrees inclusive.

  • Publication number: 20120274875
Abstract: In a backlight using an LED, area control is performed such that the backlight is lit only in the bright area of the screen and the backlight is not lit in the dark area. The temperature change in the light emission efficiency of the LED is large. The temperature of the lit LED is high in area control, so that when a completely gray screen is displayed after the area control, the light emission efficiency of the LED decreases in the previously illuminated area, resulting in the occurrence of uneven brightness. The present invention prevents the uneven brightness of the screen in area control, by reducing the temperature change in the light emission efficiency of the LED to 5% or less, and more preferably 3% or less, in a temperature range of 50° C. to 90° C.

  • Patent number: 8279142
Abstract: A display device (1) including a surface discharge type plasma display panel (2) performs an addressing operation, a sustain operation and a reset operation. In the addressing operation, address discharge of an opposed discharge form with the second electrode (Y) used as a cathode is generated between the second electrode (Y) and a third electrode (A) in a cell to be energized or in a cell not to be energized. In the reset operation, an obtuse wave pulse (Pr1) having a negative polarity is applied to the second electrode (Y) so as to generate charge adjustment discharge starting from discharge of the opposed discharge form with the second electrode (Y) used as a cathode between the second electrode (Y) and the third electrode (A).
