  • Patent number: 6778593
Abstract: A demodulator device of the present invention receives a propagation signal including a plurality of channel signals multiplexed with each other, that is modulated by using an orthogonal code sequence, through different propagation paths. The demodulator device includes propagation path estimators for performing operations including propagation path estimation and demodulates the received propagation signal by subjecting outputs of the propagation path estimators to multi-path combination. More specifically, for information obtained by correlators corresponding to operations, the demodulator device performs the multi-path combination by combining results of multiplications of the outputs of the propagation path estimators for correlation values and then separate the plurality of channels.

  • Patent number: 5257529
Abstract: A viscosity of liquids is measured by inserting one end of a fine tube into one end of a tubular vessel sealed and maintained at a reduced pressure, while dipping the other end of the fine tube in a liquid to be measured, to cause the liquid to flow into the the vessel through the fine tube under the influence of a difference in pressure between both ends of the fine tube, detecting an internal pressure of the tubular vessel with a pressure sensor connected to the vessel to measure a change of an internal pressure of the vessel with passage of time and a change of a flow rate of the liquid passing through the fine tube with passage of time, and determining a viscosity of the liquid from the change of the internal pressure of the vessel and the change of the flow rate of the liquid. The pressure sensor is connected to the vessel by a device for piercing the other stopper and its output signals are fed to a computer through an A/D converter to calculate the viscosity of the liquid.

  • Patent number: 4549056
Abstract: In an electromagnetic induction heating apparatus, a cooking vessel made of a nonmagnetic metal, which has conventionally been incapable of magnetic inducting heating, is provided adjacent a heating coil which applies an alternating field with a high-frequency of at least 50 kHz. An inverter circuit for supplying the heating coil with a high-frequency current operates in response to an output signal from a detector which automatically detects the magnetic characteristics of the metallic material of the cooking vessel. As the high-frequency magnetic field is applied, a skin effect is produced within the metallic material of the vessel, so that the impedance for the magnetic field of the vessel is substantially fixed without regard to the wall thickness of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 4094556
Abstract: An improved anti-skid system for a vehicle which effectively utilizes an approximated slip ratio between vehicle or body velocity and wheel velocity to generate a brake release signal for a brake release valve but without actually utilizing a vehicle or body velocity detector. Storage apparatus is used to store a reference signal representing vehicle velocity but actually corresponding to a present or just past maximum value of wheel velocity. Control apparatus is then utilized for removing energy from the storage apparatus at a controlled predetermined rate chosen to approximate the expected vehicle deceleration (but without using an actual vehicle or body deceleration detector) such that the reference signal (capacitor voltage) will continue to accurately represent approximate vehicle velocities even during periods of deceleration.
