  • Publication number: 20080265481
Abstract: A recording apparatus includes moving rollers and a feeding roller. The moving rollers move a set first sheet in a direction intersecting a conveying direction. The feeding roller conveys sheets at a sheet stacking portion. After the first sheet is shifted to a parallel position by the moving roller, a second sheet at a setting position and the first sheet at the parallel position are conveyed by the feeding roller.

  • Publication number: 20080218578
Abstract: There is provided a recording apparatus in which a pressure contact position of a pinch roller to a conveying roller and a distance between the pressure contact position of the pinch roller and a platen can be properly set corresponding to different recording conditions so that a high quality image can be recorded even under the different recording conditions. A movement of the pressure contact position in which the pressure contact position of the pinch roller 37 to the conveying roller is moved by moving a pinch roller holder and a movement of the platen in which a position of the platen which faces a recording head 7 is moved for the pressure contact position of the pinch roller are executed in an interlocking relational manner.

  • Patent number: 7413361
Abstract: When the trailing edge of a recording sheet is released from a nip of a first pair of rollers which hold and convey the recording sheet, on the upstream side in the conveyance path, a variance of electric power for driving the first pair of rollers is detected, and image data to be outputted to the print head is shifted to the upstream side in the conveyance direction of the recording sheet, so that the print head is driven. As a result, it is possible to prevent the positional shift of image due to the conveyance error of the recording sheet caused when the recording sheet is released from the nip.

  • Patent number: 7158259
Abstract: A printing apparatus drive control method is provided which allows the user to select a drive mode in which a printing apparatus can be operated with reduced operation noise whatever print mode is set, such as a fine print mode or a fast print mode, thus eliminating a problem of emitting noisy operation sound to surroundings late at night when a level of noise is comparatively low. One or more of a plurality of motors, which cause a plurality of driven portions in the printing apparatus, such as paper supply unit, main scan unit and paper feed unit, to perform predetermined operations, can be driven in a normal drive mode or a silent drive mode selectively.

  • Patent number: 6939064
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to use a simple configuration to reduce the deviate of an image printed position caused by the behavior of a print sheet when the back end of the sheet slips out from an upstream roller pair. Thus, the present invention provides a printing apparatus including transporting section for transporting a print medium relative to printing heads for printing an image on a print sheet, the apparatus comprising vibrating section for vibrating the transporting section. This vibrating section vibrates the transporting section before the printing heads start a printing operation. Thus, even if the transporting section is stopped at an unstable position when a transporting operation is stopped, the applied vibration brings the transporting section into a stable state sufficiently before a printing operation is started.

  • Patent number: 6909447
Abstract: A recording apparatus for recording on a recording sheet by recording means comprises a conveying roller for conveying a recording sheet on the upstream side of recording means in the recording sheet conveying direction, plural discharging rollers for conveying a recording sheet on the downstream side of recording means in the recording sheet conveying direction, and a common driving source for driving the plural discharging rollers. For this recording apparatus the driving force of the driving source is transmitted first to a discharging roller on the outermost downstream side in the recording sheet conveying direction. With the structure thus arranged, this recording apparatus is capable of forming images in good condition on the rear portion of a recording sheet by enhancing the conveyance precision only by use of discharging rollers without any significant cost increase for a recording apparatus provided with plural discharging rollers.

  • Patent number: 6908168
Abstract: An inkjet printing apparatus includes a transportation roller unit and discharging roller units to transport printing media. When printing an image on a front end portion of the printing medium, ink is ejected from a partial number of nozzles of a print head on a side near to the transportation roller unit. When the printing medium is transported by both the transportation roller unit and the discharging roller unit, ink is ejected from all the nozzles of the print head. When printing an image on a rear end portion of the printing medium, ink is ejected from a partial number of nozzles of a print head on a side near to the discharging roller unit.

  • Patent number: 6869235
Abstract: A recording apparatus can mount a special recording material, such as a compact disc (CD) or the like, in a state of being accommodated in a tray and perform recording on the special recording material. In this recording apparatus, by an operation of mounting a tray guide into the main body of the recording apparatus, an arm of the tray guide is inserted between a spur base for holding a spur, and a platen for holding sheet discharge rollers. The spur base thereby raises to separate the spur from the sheet discharge roller, and a space to allow passage of the tray is formed.

  • Publication number: 20050041054
Abstract: Disclosed is a recording apparatus that can accurately detect the position of a recording member, such as thick paper or a CD-R, that is mounted on a tray, that can, as much as possible, protect to-be-detected portions from being scratched, and that can perform accurate printing using a simple structure. With a configuration wherein a recording member such as thick paper or a CD-R is mounted on a tray, and wherein the recording member is printed while the tray is conveyed, a reference position detection mark, which is a to-be-detected portion, is attached to the tray from the reverse face, and the edges of a reference position detection mark that has been detected are made as the edges of a hole portion that is formed in the tray.
