  • Publication number: 20040196983
Abstract: In a reverberation apparatus, a storage section stores a directional characteristic representing a directivity of generated sound at a sound generating point. A position determining section determines a position of the sound generating point within an acoustic space on the basis of an instruction from the user. An orientation determining section determines an orientation of the sound generating point based on the determined position thereof. An impulse response determining section determines an impulse response for each of sound ray paths along which the sound emitted from the sound generating point travels to reach a sound receiving point, in accordance with the directional characteristic of the generated sound and the orientation of the sound generating point. A calculation section performs a convolution operation between the impulse response and an input audio signal so as to apply thereto the acoustic effect.

  • Publication number: 20040195206
Abstract: An organic compound having an affinity for a resin of a molded resin article and sublimation properties is allowed to penetrate/disperse into the surface of the molded resin article, thereby modifying and/or coloring a resin surface layer. The molded resin article and the organic compound having the affinity for the resin and the sublimation properties are put into a tightly closable container, and the pressure and the temperature in the container are adjusted to place them in a saturated sublimation pressure state of the organic compound, whereby a vapor of the organic compound is uniformly deposited on the surface of the molded resin article and it further penetrates/disperses into the resin surface layer, and in consequence, the resin surface layer can be modified and/or colored. In addition, the modification of the resin surface layer permits imparting a function thereto.

  • Publication number: 20040199708
Abstract: An editing system in which a personal computer is easily configured as an editing apparatus that performs editing processing in synchronization with predetermined timing. According to the invention, a personal computer 2 transmits an acquisition command C1 to a timing notice apparatus 4 over a USB cable 3, as a result, the personal computer 2 receives a timing notice signal S2 transmitted from the timing notice apparatus 4 under frame timing over the USB cable 3. Thus, it becomes possible to notify the personal computer 2 of the frame timing as reception timing of the timing notice signal S2 by connecting the timing notice apparatus 4 to the personal computer 2 over the USB cable 3 without the need of troublesome works such as installing a PCI board in a main body of the personal computer 2, thereby realizing an editing system 1 in which the personal computer 2 is easily configured as an editing apparatus that performs editing processing in synchronization with predetermined timing.
