Abstract: There are provided a pilot switching valve apparatus capable of preventing malfunction of a switching valve, due to unintentional feeding of a pilot pressure into a valve chest of the switching valve by error, at a low cost with the adoption of a simple configuration, and a method of switching the switching valve.

Abstract: A TIG welding equipment and a TIG welding method are described, capable of forming a welded metal portion deeply without lowering the welding quality, making the welding performance easier and improving the welding efficiency. The TIG welding equipment includes an electrode 2 for generating an electric arc 7 between itself and the welded object 10, a tubular inner nozzle 3 disposed surrounding the electrode 2, and a tubular outer nozzle 4 disposed surrounding the inner nozzle 3. A first shielding gas 8 composed of an inert gas can be supplied from the inner nozzle 3, and a second shielding gas 9 containing an oxidative gas can be supplied from between the inner nozzle 3 and the outer nozzle 4.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a card-type terminal such as a PC card with a memory card such as a USIM card. It allows a memory card to be secured easily on a tray and inserted easily into a card-type terminal. A card-type terminal includes a tray slidable in and out freely with a memory card mounted, and a guide which helps the tray slide in and houses the inserted tray; in which the memory card is placed on the tray, which is slid into the guide, thereby installing the memory card in the card-type terminal. The tray has a holder which secures, to the tray, the forward-end center section of the memory card mounted along the insertion direction of the tray and an elastic restraining piece which secures, to the tray, the backward-end center section of the memory card mounted along the insertion direction of the tray.

Abstract: A method of measuring reception timings of signals transmitted and received between base stations and a mobile station and calculating the position of the mobile station by using the reception timings and the reception positions of the signals comprises the steps of obtaining the address information items necessary to specify incoming signals used for the position calculation, analyzing address information items included in the incoming signals, and selecting incoming signals used for position calculation according to a result of comparing the obtained address information items with address information items analyzed in accordance with the incoming signals. A signal incoming from a desired radio station is thus selected and used for position calculation.

Abstract: An organic-inorganic composite material is formed by polycondensating a metal alkoxide through hydrolysis until the unreacted metal alkoxide is reduced to 3 vol. % or less, and mixing it with an organic polymer. The composite material has a light transmittance of at least 90% per 10 &mgr;m material thickness for light of 600 to 1000 nm. The metal element content of the composite material is preferably 0.1 to 46 wt. %, more preferably 5 to 37 wt. %. By laminating layers of such organic-inorganic composite materials having respective different compositions, the resulting laminate has a concentration gradient wherein the metal element content increases or decreases monotonously, or increases and decreases in succession, from one side to the other side of the laminate. The resulting refractive index varies opposite the metal element content. The material can be used for an optical waveguide or a light transmission structure.
