  • Patent number: 5969445
Abstract: A brushless motor which includes an arrangement to prevent dielectric breakdown of electronic parts mounted on a control board. The breakdown is caused by a heat sink which becomes electrostatically charged. The potential at the heat sink, which contacts switching devices (for instance, FETS) of the brushless motor, is equalized with the potential at one side of a source line for a drive circuit formed on the control board that includes the switching device. As a result, when the heat sink becomes electrostatically charged, the charge at the heat sink can be discharged to the source line, thereby eliminating the above problem.

  • Patent number: 5954880
Abstract: In a roller support device, an inner peripheral surface of a bearing box is covered with a material having a poor wettability with respect to a molten metal, such as tantalum, graphite, C/C composite, silicon carbide or the like. The molten metal does not adhere to the covered portion, or even if the molten metal adheres to and is solidified on the covered portion, the molten metal can be peeled off with a light force. Therefore, after a support roller is pulled up from the molten metal, the molten metal does not prevent a rolling bearing from shifting in the axial direction thereof so that the roller support device can prevent an excessive force from being applied to the rolling bearing when the support roller, after it is thermally expanded once, is contracted as the temperature falls.

  • Patent number: 5927259
Abstract: An ignition coil has a stress absorbing member with a coefficient of linear expansion which is smaller than a coefficient of linear expansion of a potting resin. The stress absorbing member faces along a circuit element of a mold ignition circuit and is buried in the potting resin. Thus, stress, caused by temperature change, which is applied to the circuit element of the mold ignition circuit from the potting resin can be reduced by the stress absorbing member. Therefore, peeling at a bonding portion of the circuit elements or at the crack can be prevented. Furthermore, the stress absorbing member is only facing along the circuit element mounting surface, and the mold ignition circuit is not wrapped by the stress absorbing member. Therefore, heat radiation from the mold ignition circuit is not suppressed by the stress absorbing member. The radiation performance of the ignition apparatus is thus improved, and the durability and credibility of the ignition circuit is improved.

  • Patent number: 5740787
Abstract: An igniter circuit is placed inside the sealing container of an associated ignition device to be sealed. The circuit is accommodated behind a partition wall inside the sealing container. The igniter includes a metallic circuit case, a substrate attached to the inner bottom surface of the circuit case, circuit elements attached to the substrate to form an ignition circuit and silicone gel that fills the circuit case. Using the adhesive properties of the silicone gel, a sheet-like protective member is place over the silicone gel to face the partition wall. The protective member may be made, for example, of aramid paper. The protective member is preferably adhesive to silicone gel, can contain gas (air) and is elastic. When the sealing container is filled with insulating resin, a portion of the insulating resin flows to the igniter from an opening of the partition wall. At this point, the protective member protects and separates the silicone gel from the inflowing insulating resin.

  • Patent number: 5322963
Abstract: Intermediate compounds (formula [III]and [IV]) useful as starting materials for the synthesis of amino acid derivatives which have renin inhibitory activity and which are useful as remedies for hypertension are prepared stereoselectively in high yield, without requiring complicated process steps. In this method, by reaction of .alpha.-amino aldehyde derivative [I] and compound [II] in the presence of BF.sub.3.OEt.sub.2, as shown in the following reaction formula, .alpha.-amino-.beta.-hydroxy-.delta.-ketone derivative [III] is prepared, and furthermore, by reducing it as required, compound [IV] is obtained: ##STR1## (where R.sup.1 is a protective group on the amino group, R.sup.2 is a lower alkyl group which may be branched, and R.sup.4 is a cyclohexyl group or phenyl group).

  • Patent number: 4213517
Abstract: An elevator control system includes a power source which supplies AC power to an induction motor for driving an elevator car through a first thyristor gate circuit. Another induction motor provided for braking the elevator car is connected to the power source through a second thyristor gate circuit. A tachometer generator connected to the induction motors produces an speed signal indicative of the speed of the elevator car. The speed signal is compared with a reference signal and the difference therebetween is used to control the first and second thyristor gate circuits for controlling the elevator car speed.
