  • Publication number: 20020052419
Abstract: The present invention provides an ophthalmic composition for soft contact lenses (SCL), which contains a terpenoid as an active ingredient, an ophthalmic composition for SCL, which contains polyoxyethylene sorbitan ester, a method of enhancing the wettability of soft contact lenses, which comprises bringing terpenoid into contact with SCL and a method of inhibiting adsorption of terpenoid onto SCL, which comprises adding polyoxyethylene sorbitan ester to an ophthalmic composition containing a terpenoid. The ophthalmic composition containing a terpenoid improves, for example, the wettability of SCL, thereby to inhibit decrease in the water content of SCL. As a result, it can inhibit a dry feeling and an uncomfortable feeling during wearing SCL and is useful for enhancing the wettability of SCL. Further, addition of polyoxyethylene sorbitan ester leads to the inhibition of adsorption of terpenoid onto SCL.

  • Publication number: 20010033144
Abstract: The robot system including a 6-axis robot has a swingable arm for transferring a workpiece between first and second positions, a wrist on a distal end of the arm, that is driven to rotate around a predetermined axis, and a transfer device at the wrist. The transfer device has a link mechanism having first and second links and holding means attached to a distal end of the second link. A proximal end of the first link is attached to the wrist so as to rotate around the predetermined axis. A distal end of the first link and a proximal end of the second link are rotatably connected to each other. In accordance with a swinging motion of the arm, the first link rotates in a first rotational direction with respect to the arm and the second link rotates in a second rotational direction opposite to the first rotational direction with respect to the first link, so as to transfer the workpiece along a straight line linking the first and second positions.

  • Patent number: 5994405
Abstract: An agent for contact lenses, comprising chloroacetamide. According to the present invention, chloroacetamide, which is the bacteriocidal component to be contained, is scarcely adsorbed not only to hard contact lenses and gas-permeable hard contact lenses, but also to soft contact lenses, and even if adsorbed, moreover, chloroacetamide is quickly released and is not accumulated on the contact lens to a greater extent. The inventive agent containing, in addition to chloroacetamide, sodium lauryl sulfate shows more superior bacteriocidal effect and cleaning effect. Therefore, the present invention provides an agent for contact lenses having superior bacteriocidal effect and cleaning effect, which can be used safely and with ease for various contact lenses inclusive of soft contact lenses.

  • Patent number: 4910555
Abstract: An electrophotographic device has a photosensitive element, an electrifier that forms a uniform electrostatic potential on the photosensitive element, and a light source for irradiating the photosensitive element to obtain an electrostatic latent image that has a reduced potential. A bias potential is applied to the photosensitive element after the latent image is formed, but before it is developed, so that the reduced potential of the latent image can be maintained at a constant level. With constant potentials existing on the photosensitive element, a printed image of high quality is obtained.
