    Abstract: According to an aspect, a display device includes: a display panel including an array substrate, a counter substrate, a liquid crystal layer between the array substrate and the counter substrate, and spacers projecting from the counter substrate toward the array substrate; a light-transmitting glass base member bonded to the display panel; and a light source that includes a light guide provided along a side surface of the array substrate, a side surface of the counter substrate, or a side surface of the glass base member, and light emitters facing the light guide. The array substrate includes: signal lines; scan lines; and switching elements coupled to the scan lines and the signal lines. The spacers are arranged in positions facing the respective switching elements and are provided with adhesion layers provided such that the counter substrate and the array substrate adhere to each other.
