  • Publication number: 20090127737
Abstract: A nozzle (55b) is disposed on a bottom (55a) of an air duct (55), and a drying air (56) is fed out from a nozzle (55b) toward a casting film (69). A data of a wind speed of the drying air (56) is input on a key board (100) to a controller (58), in which a height H of the air duct (55) from a casting belt (46) is calculated from the input wind velocity V. On the basis of the calculated height H, the controller (58) drives a shift device (102) to shift the air duct (55) up- and downwardly, such that the height H may be in the range of 20 mm to 300 mm.

  • Publication number: 20090115096
Abstract: A primary dope is obtained by mixing solvent and polymer, and an additive is added to the primary dope so as to prepare three sorts of dopes. The dopes are cast from a casting die onto a casting belt to form three-layer film. The thickness of the first layer t1 is the same as the thickness of the third layer t3 or less, and the thickness of the third layer t3 is the same as the thickness of the second layer t2 or less. After the film is peeled from the casting belt, both side edge portions of the film are clipped by clips. The film is stretched in a widthwise direction and dried. The film is excellent in smoothness and optical properties.

  • Publication number: 20090020221
Abstract: A liquid (14) is prepared by dissolving and dispersing poly-?-caprolactone, polyacrylamide and fine particles in chloroform. Viscosity of the liquid (14) is adjusted. Further, a substrate (30) is produced. A frame (31) is provided such that a thickness t1 is 0.5 mm. The liquid (14) is cast onto the casting area (30a) surrounded by the frame (31). A casting film (21) is formed by moving a scraper blade (33) and leveling the surface of the cast liquid (14). A plurality of droplets are formed in a systematic arrangement in the casting film (21) through condensation on the casting film (21). The droplets are evaporated by drying to form pores. Thus, the self-assembled construction having a honeycomb structure with a thickness of 5 ?m and a pore diameter of 5 ?m is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20070231492
Abstract: A polymer film producing apparatus has a moving support on which dope containing polymer and solvent is cast to form a cast film. The cast film is stripped from the support to obtain a polymer film containing the solvent, and the polymer film is dried. A first gas flow duct has gas nozzles for causing a first dry gas to flow toward the cast film. A second gas flow duct has a gas outlet disposed downstream from the gas nozzles, and positioned higher than a height of the gas nozzles relative to the support, for causing a second dry gas to flow toward the cast film in a moving direction of the support. Furthermore, the first gas flow duct includes a gas blow wall for defining the first flow path by opposing to the support. The gas blow wall has the gas nozzles.

  • Publication number: 20070222107
Abstract: A primary dope is obtained by mixing a solvent and a polymer, and an additive is added to the primary dope, and thus a second dope for a main layer, a first dope for a contact layer and a third dope for an exposure layer are prepared. Only in the second dope is contained at least one of retardation controller, UV absorbing agent and deterioration inhibitor. The first-third dopes are cast from a casting die onto a casting belt to form a casting film of a three layer structure having the base, contact and exposure layers. Since the volatile compound is contained in the main layer, a precipitation of the volatile compounds on a surface of a produced film is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20070160790
Abstract: The liquid repellent structure includes a support, and a honeycomb-patterned film and a coating film on the honeycomb-patterned film or a liquid repellent film. The method of producing the structure applies a solution of an organic compound in an organic solvent onto the support, places the support in an atmosphere containing water vapor to form water droplets on a surface of the solution film, evaporates the organic solvent and the droplets to form the honeycomb-patterned film, and forms the coating film made of a fluorine-containing material on a surface of the honeycomb-patterned film or etches the honeycomb-patterned film to form a second honeycomb-patterned film. The liquid ejection head includes an ejection substrate having the liquid repellent structure. The protective film includes a support base and the liquid repellent structure.

  • Publication number: 20050212165
Abstract: A casting die casts onto a belt a dope containing TAC for producing a film after the drying. Edge determining devices having edge correction paths are attached to both sides of a main body of the casting die. Part of the dope is fed as edge correction dopes in edge correction paths, and the remaining part of the dope is fed as a main dope in the manifold. A thickness of the main dopes is regulated so as to control the thickness of the film. In a casting film formed from the dope, both edge portions are thicker than a middle portion, and therefore the strength of the edge portions and the casting film increases. Thus when the casting film is peeled from the belt, the peeling defects are reduced. The edge portions are slit of to obtain a thin film.

  • Publication number: 20050214472
Abstract: In a joining section there are columnar distribution pins, on whose periphery a groove is formed. A size of the groove is strictly determined. A first dope and a third dope are fed through the respective grooves such that a width of each dope is controlled. Thereafter, the surface and third dopes are joined with an second dope. Thus a multi-layer stream is obtained and cast through a die lip of a casting die for forming a casting film having a multi-layer structure. The casting film is dried and thus a multi-layer film is obtained.
