Another apparatus includes transmit path circuitry configured to transmit an MMT container and a processing device configured to identify locations of one or more MFUs in the MMT container using a hint track within the MMT container.

Abstract: A method includes calculating a complexity value for each segment or version of multimedia content. The multimedia content has multiple versions associated with common content and different encoding parameters, and each version is divided into segments. The method also includes adaptively streaming the multimedia content to a client device based on at least some of the calculated complexity values. The complexity value for each segment or version is calculated by summing multiple operation complexity values defining complexities of operations for decoding the segment or version. The operation complexity values could include values for a bit parsing operation, a buffer initialization operation, an intra-prediction operation, an inverse quantization and transform operation, a reference block fetch operation, a fractional interpolation operation, and in-loop deblocking operation, a sample adaptive offset correction operation, an adaptive loop filtering operation, and a de-ringing filtering operation.

Abstract: A method and apparatus control delivery of media data in a transmission system. A method of operating a sending entity in the transmission system includes identifying a fixed delay associated with transmission of media data in the transmission system and sending information about the fixed delay as a requirement on a length of time after transmission that the media data is passed to an application layer component or presented to a user of a receiving entity. A method of operating a receiving entity in the transmission system includes receiving media data and information about a fixed delay associated with the media data and identifying a requirement on a length of time after transmission that the media data is passed to an application layer component or presented to a user from the information about the fixed delay.

Abstract: To reduce communication costs and computational complexity, only a subset of ranked SIFT points within a query image for a visual search request is transmitted to the visual search server in each iteration of an incremental search. For each candidate match, a flag identifying the matching points is returned by the server for use in computing holistic (e.g., histogram) information for a bounding box within the query image including the matching points. Distance from that query image holistic information is used to reject images from a short list used for a subsequent iteration, if any. If all images are rejected or a match criteria is met during one iteration, the search may terminate early without consideration of remaining SIFT points.

Abstract: A client device and a server device communicate using an Open Mobile Alliance (OMA)-Device Management (DM) protocol. The client device is configured to grant the desired access rights to a newly bootstrapped DM server, upon successful completion of a bootstrap procedure, by using nodes in the Bootstrap Config Management Object (MO) to specify the access rights for different portions of the Management Tree.

The method includes receiving, by a demand response controller, demand response specific input. Abstract: A device for use in a communication system and a method for its operation are provided. The method of operating a Device Management (DM) client of a device in a communication system includes receiving an out-of-band DM message from a DM server, determining if out-of-band message response (OOBMsgResponse) reporting is inhibited based on an OOBMsgResponse node in a Management Object (MO), and if it is determined that OOBMsgResponse reporting is not inhibited, sending a response message in response to the out-of-band DM message received from the DM server.

Abstract: A device and method for performing sessionless reporting are provided. The device includes a memory for storing code of a Device Management (DM) Client and a Sessionless Report Configuration Management Object (MO), the Sessionless Report Configuration MO including one or more nodes, a processor for executing the code of the DM Client stored in the memory, a communications unit for sending and receiving information for the DM Client, and the DM Client for sending one or more sessionless reports to a DM server, and, while awaiting acknowledgement of the one or more sessionless reports from the DM Server in a subsequent DM Session, for controlling sessionless reporting based on criteria specified in at least one node included in the Sessionless Report Configuration MO.

Abstract: A system is provided that includes a manager device that executes a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) manager. The system also includes an agent device coupled to the manager device. The agent device executes a SNMP agent that selectively provides access to managed data. The SNMP manager enables a user to issue a login command. The SNMP agent processes the login command and, if the user is authenticated, allows the user to access the managed data using a session identifier.

Abstract: A method and a device are configured to receive a signal from a server to perform administrative and configuration control. During Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Device Management (DM) session, the device receives either an administrative or configuration signal from the server. The administrative signal may instruct the device to inhibit or allow a trigger processing capability. The configuration signal may instruct the device to apply a set of parameters to the device settings that are related to notification processing.

Abstract: In a communication system, a server is operable to control responses from a number of client devices to prevent overload conditions of the server resulting from the responses. The server includes a controller configured to select a desired response profile for a plurality of broadcast client devices from a plurality of response profiles based upon current resource conditions and to include a prescribed response behavior for the client in the broadcast message. The broadcast message includes a response control field providing information regarding the desired response profile. The client devices include a receiver configured to receive the broadcast message. The client devices also include a controller configured to decode the control field in the broadcast message to determine the response behavior and respond to the broadcast message as prescribed by the server.

Abstract: A system and method of identifying loose patterns using a smart multiset intersection operation are provided. Data segments are received from a data segmentation algorithm and sorted into corresponding multisets. A retain operation may be performed on the multisets. A normalization operation is then performed on the repeating elements in the multisets to identify the loose pattern. The loose pattern is stored in a database.
