Abstract: A system for an in-service software upgrade is disclosed. The system consists of a processor, a first version of a software process, a second version of the software process, and a proxy software process. When executed by the processor, the proxy software process can intercept a message intended for the first version and direct the message to either the first version or the second version based on the status of a transaction associated with the message.

Abstract: A system and method of identifying loose patterns using a smart multiset intersection operation are provided. Data segments are received from a data segmentation algorithm and sorted into corresponding multisets. A retain operation may be performed on the multisets. A normalization operation is then performed on the repeating elements in the multisets to identify the loose pattern. The loose pattern is stored in a database.

Abstract: A method for providing efficient object-based network management is provided. The method includes receiving a request for a reference to an object that represents at least one managed network element. A determination is made regarding whether the object is currently activated. The object is activated based on the request for a reference to the object when the object is not currently activated.

Abstract: A first object-oriented telecommunication device that communicates with a second object-oriented telecommunication device in the communication network. The first object-oriented telecommunication device comprises: 1) a plurality of objects executable by processing circuitry associated with the first object-oriented telecommunication device; and 2) an object conduit management information base (MIB) manager for gathering data from one or more of the plurality of objects and generating therefrom a management information base (MIB) data structure suitable for communicating with the second object-oriented telecommunication device using a specified protocol interface, such as Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
