Patent number: 6912063Abstract: An ink jet recording apparatus for recording by discharging ink from nozzles of a recording head to a recording medium comprises a figure recording control section for executing recording control of figure draw commands for ruled lines and other figures, and a bitmap recording control section for executing recording control of draw commands other than the figure draw commands by developing bitmaps. For this ink jet recording apparatus, draw commands are individually controlled by the recording control sections, respectively, and at the same time, recording is performed by relatively moving in the intersecting two directions a recording head for discharging ink by the draw commands, and a recording medium held by a recording medium holding unit in the position facing the ink discharge surface of the recording head.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2000Date of Patent: June 28, 2005Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kosuke Yamamoto, Hiroshi Nakai, Shusuke Inamura, Masayuki Hongo, Kenichi Moriya, Manabu Yamazoe

Publication number: 20050077674Abstract: The invention is to reduce the dimension and the production cost of a feeding apparatus. The feeding apparatus includes a pressure plate cam gear which contacts and separates a pressure plate with and from a feeding roller rubber in a forward rotation of a stepping motor, then interrupts the drive power transmission to the pressure plate, then transmits the driving power again to the pressure plate by a reverse rotation of the stepping motor to return the pressure plate to a separated state and terminates the drive power transmission to the pressure plate, a gear portion provided at an end of a feeding roller shaft for transmitting the driving power from the stepping motor to the feeding roller rubber, and a control circuit for reversing the stepping motor after a leading end of a recording medium is detected by a PE sensor lever.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2004Publication date: April 14, 2005Applicant: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kosuke Yamamoto

Publication number: 20040012143Abstract: A sheet material conveying apparatus is provided with retard levers for supporting a retard roller shaft, which are rotative centering on the central axis of rotation so as to press the retard roller to a conveying roller. Retard pressing springs are hooked to the spring latches of the retard levers, and the hooks of a slider. When the limiter gear of a torque limiter rotates, the tightening force exerted by a stepped spring against an inner race is caused to change, thus changing the rotating-load torque of the retard roller. A motor enables the limiter gear to rotate, while moving the slider up and down. In this way, it is made possible to change the rotating load torque of the retard roller, while changing the pressurized contact force of the retard roller against the conveying roller. With the structure thus arranged, it is attempted to make the life of rollers longer, and to prevent the occurrence of double feeding of sheet material.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 8, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Applicant: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kosuke Yamamoto

Publication number: 20030193673Abstract: A reliable detection of optically detecting the type of recording media is achieved. A part of a support member for supporting an optical sensor is pushed against the surface of a sheet by a spring so as to maintain the gap between the sensor and the sheet surface. With this arrangement, a recording apparatus which is free from wrong detection is achieved regardless of a gap-varying factor, that is, the remaining amount of sheets. Also, by arranging a part of a light-shielding hood so as to abut against the sheet, wrong detection due to disturbance light can be prevented.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2003Publication date: October 16, 2003Applicant: CANON KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Kosuke Yamamoto

Patent number: 6164755Abstract: In consideration of a coupling condition between a carriage having a functional element, such as a printing head, and a carrier for moving the carriage, position control therefor is performed appropriately for improving printed image quality and satisfactorily obtaining the function of the functional element. With respect to a scanning body as the carrier, a carriage for black ink and a carriage for color ink are selectively coupled by a gripper. Sensor blocking plates are respectively provided on the scanning body and the carriages. On the basis of a timing, at which the sensor blocking plate blocks an optical path of a home position sensor provided at a predetermined position of a main body of an apparatus, a correction amount for position control corresponding to a coupling play of the carriage relative to the carrier is derived.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1997Date of Patent: December 26, 2000Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kosuke Yamamoto

Patent number: 5734391Abstract: In a printing apparatus using a plurality of heating elements as printing elements, there are provided CCD elements for storing electric charges whose quantity correspond to temperatures in correspondence to each of the printing elements, and for sequentially transferring these electric charges. As a printing head driving apparatus, an analog shift register having a series of CCD elements is employed in order to perform data transfer operation, data alignment, and driving operations of the respective printing elements. Also, the above-described CCD elements are commonly used with CCD elements for storing and transferring temperature data. As a result, a compact printing apparatus can be made while suppressing shading in images caused by temperature increasing due to the driving operation of the printing elements.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1994Date of Patent: March 31, 1998Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hideki Tanaka, Katsuhiro Shirota, Masayoshi Tachihara, Ken Tsuchii, Masashi Miyagawa, Genji Inada, Kosuke Yamamoto

Patent number: 5216478Abstract: A Doppler velocity meter has a radiation source for emitting a radiation beam the wavelength of which fluctuates, such as a laser; an optical system for directing the radiation beam to an object at an incident angle .theta. and a detector for detecting scattered beam generated from the object by directing the radiation beam. The optical system has a diffraction grating which serves to change the incident angle .theta. in accordance with a change in the wavelength .lambda. of the radiation beam in such a manner as to maintain the value of sin .theta./.lambda. substantially constant. The velocity meter can accurately detect the velocity of movement of the object regardless of any change in the wavelength .lambda., because the diffraction grating serves to substantially compensate for any change in the frequency of the scattered beam caused by the change in the wavelength.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1992Date of Patent: June 1, 1993Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hidejiro Kadowaki, Ken Tsuchii, Makoto Takamiya, Kosuke Yamamoto, Masafumi Wataya, Toshiyuki Yanaka, Haruhiko Takahashi, Hiroshi Sugiyama, Yasuhiko Ishida
