  • Patent number: 6223118
Abstract: A vehicle control unit controls a vehicle having a device capable of controlling deceleration, such as a continuously variable transmission. An information detection device is capable of determining a relationship between the instant vehicle and a preceding vehicle running in front of the instant vehicle, for example, a headway distance and a relative speed therebetween. Based on the information derived from the detection device, the vehicle correlation is determined and compared with a predetermined target correlation. Then, deceleration of the instant vehicle is set by a deceleration setting device such that the determined correlation reaches the predetermined target correlation. The device for performing deceleration is controlled based on the deceleration that has been set.

  • Patent number: 6158115
Abstract: A method of mounting electronic parts on a circuit board comprises an adhesive layer formation step of forming, on an electrode surface of each electronic part on which electrodes are formed, a film-like thermosetting adhesive layer having an area substantially equal to that of the corresponding electrode surface so as to obtain adhesive-coated electronic parts. The electrodes on which the adhesive layer is formed are arranged so as to face corresponding electrodes of the circuit board, and the electrodes are positioned relative to each other. Heat and pressure are applied to the electrodes of the electronic parts and the electrodes of the circuit board to fix the electrodes to each other after the electrodes are positioned. Almost no adhesive superfluously comes out of the electrode surfaces. Accordingly, when mounting the electronic parts on the circuit board, it is unnecessary to remove superfluous adhesive, unlike conventional process, whereby the efficiency is improved and also the cost can be cut down.

  • Patent number: 6034331
Abstract: A connection sheet which firmly bonds electrodes that face each other together by interposing the connection sheet between the electrodes. The connection sheet comprises a first adhesive layer containing a first adhesive having an insulating property and a second adhesive layer placed at least on one side of the first adhesive layer and containing a second adhesive having an insulating property and a conductive material, wherein at the time of electrode connection, the second adhesive molten has a viscosity equal to or lower than that of the first adhesive when molten. When the electrodes are connected with this structure, the conductive material contained in the second adhesive layer is embedded in the first adhesive layer having relatively high melting viscosity, and part of the conductive material is trapped on the electrodes to be connected in contact therewith. Accordingly, the conductive material can be securely held between the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5756058
Abstract: Impurities such as halides and ammonia are efficiently removed from a gas containing Sox at a high concentration without any substantial addition of fresh water in a process for purifying a sulfur oxides-containing gas. The process involves passing a gas containing sulfur oxides and impurities at a high concentration successively through a first washing column and thence through a second washing column, thereby water washing the gas through the two washing columns to remove the impurities from the gas. The first washing column is operated so that the outlet temperature of the gas from the first washing column is at a temperature at which the gas can have a maximum water content or a temperature near this temperature, and the second washing column is operated such that the outlet temperature of the gas from the second washing column at least 20.degree. C. lower than the outlet temperature of the gas from the first washing column.

  • Patent number: 4965478
Abstract: A dc motor including a first set of pigtails passing out of the motor case through a grommet which is fitted in an opening formed in the motor case. This motor has a pigtail holder which fixes the first set of pigtails to the grommet. The pigtail holder includes first and second portions. The first portion is stationarily engaged with the grommet, while the second portion is fixedly connected to those portions of the first set of pigtails inside the motor case. With this fixed pigtail arrangement, movement of the first set of pigtails is restrained, and therefore, effects of vibration on the first set of pigtails are reduced when the motor is subjected to vibration.

  • Patent number: 4854692
Abstract: Disclosed is an ophthalmic examination apparatus in which a laser beam is deflected at an eye fundus under examination to scan the eye fundus two-dimensionally, and light reflected back from the eye fundus is detected for photoelectric conversion to obtain information about the eye fundus. The apparatus includes a first optical deflector for deflecting the laser beam to scan the eye fundus in one direction and a second optical deflector for deflecting the laser beam to scan the eye fundus in a direction perpendicular to the scanning direction of the first optical deflector. A detection slit is provided which extends perpendicularly to the scanning direction of the second optical deflector and which is disposed at a position optically conjugate with the eye fundus. The reflected light is deflected in a direction parallel to the detection slit, but stationary in a direction that is perpendicular to the slit. • Patent number: 4838518
Abstract: A pressure control valve includes pressure modulating section and a magnetic section. The magnetic section has a cylindrical case, a coil assembly, a cylindrical core, a rod and a plunger. The plunger is made of thick magnetic material. At the center of the plunger, a cylindrical concave whose diameter is slightly larger than that of the cylindrical core is provided. The end of the cylindrical core composes an extrusion by extending from the coil assembly. A magnetic attractive section made up by the cylindrical concave of the plunger and the extrusion of the cylindrical core both of which are located vis-a-vis each other, and is located away from the pressure modulating section. Due to the above, when operation the plunger is efficiently magnetized and attracted to the extrusion of the core. And even if fluid leaks from the pressure modulating section, it is difficult for the fluid to reach the magnetic attractive section.

  • Patent number: 4838517
Abstract: A pressure control valve includes pressure modulating section and a magnetic section. The magnetic section has a cylindrical case, a coil assembly, a cylindrical core, a rod and a plunger. Outer limbs of a disc type supporting members which are made of a leaf spring member are fixed to both ends of the cylindrical core, and both ends of the rod are suspended at the center of the disc type supporting members, so that the rod is supported by the disc type supporting members. Due to the above when operation, the move of the rod is performed smoothly by the supporting structure of the disc type supporting member, and the supporting member moves according to the move of the rod, so that such move of the rod brings about no volume change in the magnetic section.
