  • Publication number: 20210045052
Abstract: Managing an association of a wireless device to an access point of a wireless network is disclosed. Probe requests are received from the wireless device at access points within the wireless network. The probe requests are forwarded from the access points to a network controller. The network controller selects an access point to connect the wireless device to, based on information available thereto. The selected access point is informed that it has been selected. A probe response is provided to the wireless device from the selected access point.

  • Publication number: 20210039991
Abstract: A method of marking an optical fiber includes forming an ink stream, moving an optical fiber over a fiber path adjacent the ink stream, and intermittently deflecting the ink stream with a gas jet so that the optical fiber at least partially enters the deflected ink stream so that the ink from the deflected ink stream forms spaced apart marks on the optical fiber outer surface. An optical fiber marking apparatus is also disclosed that includes payout and take modules that move the optical fiber over the fiber path, a marking unit configured to form an ink stream adjacent the fiber path, and an ink stream deflection device that causes the ink stream to deflect and overlap the fiber path so that ink from the ink stream forms spaced apart marks on the outer surface of the optical fiber.

  • Publication number: 20210045040
Abstract: Wireless devices (clients) connect to different access points (AP) in a wireless network. The wireless network may determine that based on, for example, congestion of certain APs that a client should be steered away from a current AP. Steering may be conducted utilizing BSS transition management (BTM) messages to provide the client with a list of network-preferred APs for a transition. Clients may also have one or more preferred APs and may reject the BTM steering message if it does not include at least one client-preferred AP. To prevent rejection of the BTM message, at least one client-preferred AP may be added to the BTM message. To ensure the client is steered to a network-preferred AP, the client is blacklisted from connecting to the client-preferred AP until the client has been steered to a network-preferred AP.

  • Patent number: 10913434
Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment, a braking-system suitable for use on an automated vehicle is provided. The braking-system includes a ranging-sensor, a braking-actuator, and a controller in communication with the ranging-sensor and the braking-actuator. The ranging-sensor is used to detect a range-rate, a range, and a direction of an object proximate to a host-vehicle when the object resides in a field-of-view of the ranging-sensor. The field-of-view defines a conflict-zone and a conflict-buffer separate from the conflict-zone. The braking-actuator is used to control movement of the host-vehicle. The controller determines a trail of the object based on the range and the direction. The controller further classifies the object as slow-moving based on a rate-threshold. The controller further determines a tangent-vector based on the trail.

  • Publication number: 20210031766
Abstract: An automated speed control system includes a ranging-sensor, a camera, and a controller. The ranging-sensor detects a lead-speed of a lead-vehicle traveling ahead of a host-vehicle. The camera detects an object in a field-of-view. The controller is in communication with the ranging-sensor and the camera. The controller is operable to control the host-vehicle. The controller determines a change in the lead-speed based on the ranging-sensor. The controller reduces a host-speed of the host-vehicle when the lead-speed is decreasing, no object is detected by the camera, and while a portion of the field-of-view is obscured by the lead-vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20210027212
Abstract: An offline to online booking of a street-hailed vehicle by a passenger includes scanning a quick response (QR) code or a near-field communication (NFC) sticker associated with the street-hailed vehicle. Based on the scanning, QR or NFC information is retrieved from the QR code or the NFC sticker, respectively. The QR or NFC information is further processed to determine an availability of the street-hailed vehicle for allocation to the passenger. The street-hailed vehicle is further allocated to the passenger based on successful conversion of the offline to online booking of the street-hailed vehicle. A driver of the street-hailed vehicle transports the passenger from a current location to a destination location based on the allocation.

  • Patent number: 10890449
Abstract: A navigation system includes a digital-map, a global-positioning-system receiver, and one or more controller-circuits. The digital-map includes a record of global-positioning-system dead-zones. The global-positioning-system receiver indicates a position of a host-vehicle on the digital-map. The one or more controller-circuits are in communication with the global-positioning-system receiver and the digital-map. The one or more controller-circuits are configured to steer the host-vehicle. The one or more controller-circuits determine the position of the host-vehicle relative to the global-positioning-system dead-zone and determining whether a travel-path for the host-vehicle includes a lane-change to a desired-lane. In accordance with the determination by the one or more controller-circuits that the travel-path includes a lane-change and that the host-vehicle is outside of the global-positioning-system dead-zone, the one or more controller-circuits steer the host-vehicle to the desired-lane.
