  • Publication number: 20200204673
Abstract: A user interface (UI) enables a user to wirelessly control one or more Internet of Things (IoT) devices in a home or office from a mobile device. An IoT protocol is configured to discover and identify IoT devices and generate a visual identifier for each IoT device. An Indoor Positioning System (IPS) protocol is configured to generate a location for each IoT device when the mobile device is pointed toward each IoT device. An orientation sensor protocol is configured to generate orientation sensor data of the mobile device as it points to each IoT device. An IoT device profile is generated and stored for each IoT device comprising one or more of IPS and orientation data. A filtering module collects real-time IPS and orientation data and compares same to the IoT device profile to generate a match. The mobile device displays the IoT device's visual identifier and control options.

  • Publication number: 20200205036
Abstract: A gateway, for use with a first and a second access point device (APD), scans channels within a spectrum of channels. The gateway includes a delegating component, a communication component, and a load balancing component. The delegating component is operable to instruct each APD to monitor for presence of a signal on any one of a respective first or second set of channels within the spectrum. The communication component is operable to receive from the first APD a channel-in-use signal associated with an in-use channel of the first set of channels; transmit a notification signal to the second APD based on the channel-in-use signal; transmit the instruction to the first APD and the second APD; and receive a communication signal from either APD as a result of the transmission. The load balancing component is operable to determine a communication volume on each of the first set of channels, and to generate an instruction to instruct the first and second APDs to not use the in-use channel.

  • Patent number: 10678469
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media are implemented by a decoder associated with a STB to facilitate intelligent monitoring, detecting and displaying simultaneous independent videos on a display. A request is initiated to display a PiP window that presents a second content stream simultaneously with a first content stream. The request includes information as to input parameters and video input characteristics for each of the first and second content streams. Currently available resources, including memory and bandwidth, are monitored and upon initiation of the PiP window request a query is executed to determine if the available resources are sufficient. If yes, allocation of available resources is carried out to simultaneously display the first and second content streams. If no, an adjustment operation is carried out that modifies at least one input parameter or video input characteristic to simultaneously display content streams in optimal formats.

  • Patent number: 10681407
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate tuner conflict management in response to a request for guide media. When a request for presentation of a guide is received at a multimedia device, the multimedia device may determine the status of a foreground tuner and one or more background tuners available to the multimedia device. If all background tuners are busy recording, the multimedia device may tune a foreground tuner to the guide channel and present the guide media to a user. If the foreground tuner and all background tuners are busy recording, the multimedia device may generate and output for presentation, a display that includes media from the foreground tuner and media from one or more background tuners. The multimedia device may provide a user with an option to terminate a current recording to free up a tuner for tuning to the guide channel.

  • Patent number: 10640003
Abstract: The methods and systems for correcting for an inductive load when testing high voltages devices are described. A high voltages device is a device under test (DUT) in a double-pulse test, which may require the inductive load. The method can include in a low current, high voltage time period, estimating an inductor current contribution range after a turn on of the device-under-test connected to an inductive load with an air core inductor. The method subtracts the estimated inductor current contribution from a device-under-test collector current to output a corrected collector current. This allows the double pulse test to be conducted with an air-core inductor. Vehicles can use the DUT in traction power applications.
