  • Patent number: 8641683
Abstract: An injection device for injection of set doses of medicine from a cartridge has a nut that is screwed up along a threaded piston rod during a dose setting operation. The nut is screwed along the piston rod by rotating a dose setting member. A rotational coupling mechanism includes an axially displaceable coupling member which is rotated as a function of axial displacement. During dose setting, the nut is allowed to rotate relative to the coupling member. During injection, the coupling member is rotationally locked to the nut. This provides a dose setting and injection mechanism wherein the nut member is both rotated during dose setting and during injection.

  • Patent number: 8505587
Abstract: For use in the manufacture of reinforcement layers for flexible pipes which are capable of absorbing compressive or tensile forces, and which are used for the transport of oil and gas, a thermoplastic material is applied to a strength-imparting layer. The strength-imparting layers are reeled on reels, and following unreeling, are laminated by application of heat and in direct continuation applied to the pipe. The strength-imparting layer includes a polymer reinforced with at least 20% by volume of fibers. The thermoplastic is of a reversible type (it may change from being relatively soft, but non-sticky to being sticky by changes in temperature). The method allows manufacture of very strong reinforcements for flexible pipes which cannot be manufactured using solid material, e.g., steel, since high performing bending forces are required in shaping. A reinforcement element is provided which is capable of resisting instantaneous shock loads as the thermoplastic material is protective.

  • Patent number: 8348905
Abstract: A mechanical injection device for injecting apportioned doses of a liquid drug. The injection device comprises a dose setting assembly comprising a cap and a cap receiving part, adapted to abut or engage with the cap when the cap is mounted on the injection device, and an injection assembly. Mounting and/or dismounting of the cap on/from the injection device causes the dose setting assembly to set a dose. Thereby a correct dose of drug is automatically set during a cap on/cap off cycle. Since such a cycle is normally performed between two subsequent injections, the number of steps required to be performed by the user is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20120261019
Abstract: The invention relates to an unbonded, flexible pipe having a length and comprising a tubular inner sealing sheath, at least one metal armor layer and an outer sealing sheath. The unbonded, flexible pipe comprises at least one insulated length section comprising a fluid permeable thermally insulating cover surrounding the outer sealing sheath in the insulated length section. The thermally insulating cover is further surrounded by a liquid permeable jacket, and preferably the thermally insulating cover is liquid permeable. Because the liquid permeable jacket is liquid permeable, no substantial external pressure will act on the liquid permeable jacket, and accordingly the liquid permeable jacket will substantially not carry any pressure induced forces further to the thermally insulating cover. The unbonded, flexible pipe will thereby be more flexible than corresponding insulated prior art unbonded, flexible pipes with a non-liquid permeable jacket.

  • Publication number: 20120226235
Abstract: The invention provides a fluidic system (100) comprising a permeable membrane (152), in which one side of the permeable membrane is in contact with a fluid, this lowering the partial pressure of a gas on the other side of the membrane being by raising the pressure of vapour from the fluid by diffusion from the fluidic system through the permeable membrane. This will aid in expelling a gas from a fluid assembly as well as reducing the likelihood of gas entering into the fluid assembly.
