  • Publication number: 20080277288
Abstract: Method for removing coatings which have been applied to components such as turbine blades. After the end of the product life cycle of the turbine blades has been reached, these coatings can be removed to reuse the turbine blades after recoating. The coating, containing in particular chromium oxide compounds is removed via a stripping bath by adding alkanolamine compounds or salts containing such compounds as the inhibitor. These compounds advantageously prevent new chromium oxide compounds from being produced during the stripping of the turbine blades or the chromium oxide compounds present in the coating are removed effectively, so that the chromium oxide compounds cannot have an adverse influence on the removal rate of the stripping process. Advantageously reduced treatment times can thereby be achieved for the stripping process. By adding 2% triethanolamine, the treatment time in hydrochloric acid for example can be reduced to below one hour.

  • Publication number: 20080274368
Abstract: The lifespan of a layer system at high temperatures is determined by the diffusion of single elements between the substrate and the layers on the substrate. A diffusion inhibiting layer according to the invention with an adapted aluminum content which lies between the aluminum content of the substrate and the aluminum content of the bonding or corrosion protective layer prevents the diffusion of aluminum and raises therefore the lifespan of the layer system.

  • Patent number: 7447869
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fragment processing in a virtual memory system are described. Embodiments of the invention include a coprocessor comprising a virtual memory system for accessing a physical memory. Page table logic and fragment processing logic scan a page table having a fixed, relatively small page size. The page table is broken into fragments made up of pages that are contiguous in physical address space and logical address space and have similar attributes. Fragments in logical address space begin on known boundaries such that the boundary indicates both a starting address of a fragment and the size of the fragment. Corresponding fragments in physical address space can begin anywhere, thus making the process transparent to physical memory. A fragment field in a page table entry conveys both fragment size and boundary information.

  • Patent number: 7448033
Abstract: A method and apparatus identifies changes made to a computer system caused by the installation of software. The state of the computer system is recorded before the software is installed and, after the software is installed, the recorded state is compared against the state of the computer system. Changes are written into a manifest, which may be combined with any new or changed files and an installation program to produce a package which can be sent to another computer system for installation.

  • Patent number: 7446870
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for verification of particles, in particular of nanoparticles (16), in which a sensor area (15) is made available for this purpose, on which the particles can accumulate. The invention also relates to a sensor arrangement having a sensor area (15) which is suitable for carrying out the method mentioned. The invention provides for a plurality of sensor areas (15) to be arranged, on which particles which each have different characteristics can accumulate. For example, this makes it possible to classify nanoparticles (16) of different size, thus advantageously allowing a statement to be made on the size distribution of the nanoparticles (16) in a nanopowder.

  • Publication number: 20080256027
Abstract: A computer system and method is disclosed that analyzes and corrects retail data. The system and method includes several client workstations and one or more servers coupled together over a network. A database stores various data used by the system. A business logic server uses competitive and complementary fusion to analyze and correct some of the data sources stored in database server. The data fusion process itself is an iterative one—utilizing both competitive and complementary fusion methods. In competitive fusion, two or more data sources that provide overlapping attributes are compared against each other. More accurate/reliable sources are used to correct less accurate/reliable sources. In complementary fusion, relationships modeled where data sources overlap are projected to areas of the data framework in which fewer sources exist—enhancing the accuracy/reliability of those fewer sources even in the absence of the other sources upon which the models were based.
