  • Publication number: 20140280902
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products involve identifying a first IP block having a first set of IP addresses and a second IP block having a second set of IP addresses, the first set of IP addresses different from the second set of IP addresses. A first expected number of IP reassignments for the first IP block can be determined. A first number of IP reassignments between the first IP block and the second IP block can be identified. The first number of IP reassignments can be compared against the first expected number of IP reassignments. The first IP block and the second IP block can be merged into an IP allocation pool based, at least in part, on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20140260476
Abstract: Rolling mill apparatus and methods of hot rolling with targeted lubrication are provided herein. A rolling mill apparatus having multiple roll stacks may include a cooling fluid pump and a lubricant pump fluidly coupled with cooling nozzles and lubrication nozzles through a piping system. The piping system may be configured such that the lubricant pump introduces neat lubricant that mixes with the cooling fluid to form a lubricating fluid as loose lubricant emulsion for discharge to select roll stacks through one or more lubrication nozzles, while one or more cooling nozzles discharge the cooling fluid without the added lubricant. The lubrication nozzles may be aimed to target discharge of the lubricant emulsion to the bite roll. Modifications to mill headers to provide targeted lubrication in accordance with the invention are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20140277280
Abstract: A method and a system of phrenic nerve stimulation detection in conjunction with posture sensing is disclosed. In an embodiment, the method may include receiving a trigger for conducting a pace-induced phrenic nerve stimulation (PS) search using the IMD within the patient. On receiving the trigger, the IMD may be used for conducting the PS search. A procedure of conducting the PS search may include measuring a posture of the patient using an implantable posture sensor, searching for PS while the patient is in the measured posture and obtaining a PS result from the PS search for the measured posture. The method may include recording both the PS result and the measured posture in a memory of the IMD.

  • Patent number: 8838240
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for sensing, during an event of tachycardia, hemodynamic signals concurrently from at least two spatially separated locations within a patient, and quantifying a spatial relationship between the hemodynamic signals. Hemodynamic stability or state of the patient during the tachycardia event is determined based at least in part on the quantified spatial relationship. One or more anti-tachycardia therapies to treat the tachycardia may be selected based at least in part on the determined stability or state of patient hemodynamics, and the selected one or more anti-tachycardia therapies may be delivered to treat the tachycardia. The hemodynamic signals may comprise at least two, or a mixed combination, of cardiac impedance signals, cardiac chamber pressure signals, arterial pressure signals, heart sounds; and acceleration signals.

  • Publication number: 20140255343
Abstract: The object of the invention is a DNA vaccine, method of inducing the immune response, antibodies specifically recognising the haemagglutinin H5 of an influenza virus and application of the DNA vaccine. According to the invention, one or two-fold immunisation of hens with DNA vaccine containing a cDNA encoding the modified H5 haemagglutinin HA protein, i.e. with the deletion of the cleavage site between HA subunits (this provides for greater safety of the vaccines). Moreover, the encoding region of the HA is modified in such a way that protein production in the bird cells should achieve maximal yield. The main modification is codon optimisation for the hens and deletion of the site of proteolytic cleavage between subunits HA1 and HA2.

  • Patent number: 8827919
Abstract: A cardiac rhythm management system includes a heart sound detector providing for detection of the third heart sounds (S3). An implantable sensor such as an accelerometer or a microphone senses an acoustic signal indicative heart sounds including the second heart sounds (S2) and S3. The heart sound detector detects occurrences of S2 and starts S3 detection windows each after a predetermined delay after a detected occurrence of S2. The occurrences of S3 are then detected from the acoustic signal within the S3 detection windows.
