  • Publication number: 20150006526
Abstract: Provided are systems, methods, and computer-readable media for determining locations of interest to a user. User activity over a period of time is obtained and used to determine geographic entities (e.g., locations) of interest. The user activity is aggregated by geographic entity and a relevancy score is calculated for each geographic entity. The geographic entity having the highest score is stored as a location of interest in a location profile for the user. Multiple geographic entities having the highest specified number of relevancy scores may also be stored.

  • Patent number: 8923888
Abstract: A method is provided for offering content recommendations to a mobile station based on a current location of the mobile station. Records of one or more other mobile stations within a distance of the location at a set time frame can be identified. In association with the location of the other mobile station, identification of the time at which that other mobile station was at the location can be recorded. For each identified record of another mobile station, a search query or a result is then identified. In association with the location of the other mobile station, identifications of the search and/or result resident on that other mobile station can be recorded. The response to an inquiry from the mobile station is a recommendation that includes information about the identified search query and/or result resident on one or more of the other mobile stations.

  • Publication number: 20140379254
Abstract: A positioning method for use in a vehicle navigation or mapping system is disclosed, and a system implementing such a method. The method comprises obtaining one or more sets of sensor measurement data from at least one sensor located on or in a vehicle, each set of sensor measurement being indicative of the distance of objects in an environment around the vehicle from the sensor, and each set of sensor measurement data comprising data obtained from a range of positions in a time or distance window along the direction of travel of the vehicle. A correlation procedure is performed correlating the one or more sets of sensor measurement data with stored reference sensor measurement data, and a relative position of the vehicle against stored location data associated with the stored reference sensor measurement data is determined in dependence on the correlation procedure.

  • Publication number: 20140375786
Abstract: Inspired by Shack Hartmann Wavefront Patterns, a device may obtain three dimensional images for use in authentication. Since such images can have high resolution, damage in, for instance, skin on a finger may be recorded and used as part of a temporary template image. In future authentication attempts, an aged version of the temporary template image may be used. Additionally, reference points on the damage may be employed when authenticating.

  • Publication number: 20140380275
Abstract: The subject disclosure relates to enabling the evolution of a framework by providing public surface area factorings for both old and new public surface areas. The factoring can mitigate changes in the implementation of existing distributions of framework. The factoring can also mitigate breaking existing binaries. Further, the factoring can be provided while mitigating a degradation in the security guarantees of the linking model. The factorings can be applied for runtime and/or for a development toolkit. Thus, multiple, almost simultaneous, interoperable views of a framework implementation can be enabled at runtime and/or at design or build time. The views can represent different versions of the framework.

  • Patent number: 8918201
Abstract: Method and system for arranging rod-like elements, in which an unordered portion of rod-like elements, composed each of at least one part selected from cigarette parts being filter parts and tobacco parts, is delivered to a conveyor which arranges the elements on the conveyor in a plurality of compartments, longitudinally in each compartment and transversely to the direction of movement of the conveyor. The compartments have a length which receives at least one filter part and at least one tobacco part of a cigarette. The type, number and location of parts of the element received in each compartment is defined by at least a single scanning of each successive compartment of the conveyor.
