  • Publication number: 20090174730
Abstract: A data driving apparatus and a method thereof are disclosed. When the data driving apparatus of the present invention receives a gray level digital value provided by a timing controller (T-con), the data driving apparatus provides a correction/compensation gray level voltage thereby for producing a precise pixel voltage to drive pixels inside an LCD panel of an LCD according to a gamma lookup table and a correction transmissivity lookup table. Therefore, a final color displayed on the LCD can be accorded with the color established by the ideal gamma curve.

  • Publication number: 20080291149
Abstract: A pixel dithering driving method and a timing controller using the same are provided. The method uses the N low order bits of M bits together with at least one virtual bit to build several pixel dithering patterns. After the timing controller uses M bits of data received by the timing controller to look up a specific high order bit value, a specific low order bit value, and a specific pixel dithering value corresponding to the M bits in a predetermined gray level look up table and decides the output gray levels according to the specific high order bit value, the timing controller can further select a specific pixel dithering pattern from the pixel dithering patterns mentioned above according to the specific low order bit value and the specific pixel dithering value.

  • Publication number: 20080252625
Abstract: A display method with interlacing reversal scan and a device thereof are provided. The scan mode is interlacing reversal scan. Thus, in time and space, each color frame with poor luminance response can be alternately distributed on up-side and the down-side region of the frame instead on low-side region of the frame. Then, during the period of continuous frame displaying, the present invention may balance color distribution between the up-side and the down-side region, and effectively reduce the flicker phenomenon of the frame.

  • Publication number: 20080239158
Abstract: An adaptive Gamma voltage switching method and a device using the same is presented. An equalization unit utilizes a video data to obtain an equalized luminance data. An adaptive Gamma voltage switching core dynamically adjusts a Gamma voltage and outputs the adjusted Gamma voltage to a panel according to the equalized luminance data so as to enable the panel to alternately display a black insertion frame and a dynamic frame with adaptive contrast. The present invention not only enhances frame contrast but also reduces frame blur, and furthermore improves the insufficient luminance caused by black insertion.

  • Publication number: 20080079673
Abstract: A driving method and the apparatus thereof are provided based on the response characteristics of liquid crystal. A first and a second scans are executed during a frame time. During the execution of the first scan, the liquid crystal is twisted in response to an over-driving voltage to reach an angle corresponding to a target gray level within a first display period. During the execution of the second scan, a voltage corresponding to a black frame is applied to the liquid crystal within a second display period. The first and second display periods are within the frame interval, respectively, and may be modulated to have a sum equal to the frame period.

Abstract: A dot inversion driving apparatus for an analog thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT LCD) panel and the method thereof are disclosed. The driving apparatus includes a control circuit and a source driver IC. The control circuit rearranges the orders and polarities of the grayscale signals of the TFT LCD panel, divides the grayscale signals into two groups, and outputs one of the groups during one of two half periods of each frame. The source driver IC collects the grayscale signals output by the control circuit. During the first half period using one scan line of the first group as a unit, the source driver IC outputs the grayscale signals to the pixels of the first group; and during the second half period using one scan line of the second group as a unit, the source driver IC outputs the grayscale signals to the pixels of the second group.
