  • Patent number: 7746626
Abstract: A moving element having secondary keyboard for a portable electronic device is placed between a first member and a second member of the device for providing different keyboard sets to improve readability of text when in different operating configurations. When the second member slides out laterally relative to the first member, the moving element remains stayed in the first member, not moving with the second member. When the second member slides out vertically relative to the first member, the moving element slides with the second member along the sliding groove on the first member, and the moving element is exposed on top of the second member to present a concise dialing keyboard. The secondary keyboard contacts corresponding buttons of a primary keyboard directly. Thus, there is no need to provide additional circuit module exclusively for the secondary keyboard such that the cost and volume can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20100154101
Abstract: The present invention is an elastic sweatband including a fabric surface, a peak portion and a trough portion, wherein the peak portion and the trough portion are formed in a longitudinal direction of the fabric surface. The peak portion and the trough portion are paralleled and connected to each other. The peak portion and the trough portion are across two ends perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the fabric surface respectively. When a force is exerted on the elastic sweatband, a partial of vertical height of the peak portion will be converted into the extension length in the longitudinal direction, so as to provide the extension length in the longitudinal direction of the elastic sweatband.

  • Publication number: 20100046149
Abstract: A sliding electronic device includes a first component, a second component, a connecting element and a torsion element. The second component faces the first component. The connecting element is disposed between the first component and the second component, and has a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is rotatably disposed within the first component, and the second end is movably disposed within the second component. The torsion element connecting the first component to the connecting element is for providing torque to drive the connecting element. When a relative movement between the first component and the second component is generated under an applied force, the connecting element and the torsion element cause the second component to move between a close location and an open location on the first component.

  • Publication number: 20090289734
Abstract: Proposed is an apparatus for silencing electromagnetic noise, characterized by a plurality of centrally symmetrical ring-shaped through-via-hole crystalline units provided between a high voltage plane and a low voltage plane at a regular interval, thereby forming an omnidirectional noise suppression frequency band for reducing noise interference and electromagnetic radiation. In a first embodiment of the ring-shaped through-via-hole crystalline units, the through via holes are perpendicularly coupled between a metal plane and the low voltage plane. In a second embodiment of the ring-shaped through-via-hole crystalline units, the through via holes are perpendicularly coupled between two metal planes. Positioned at a regular interval, the through via holes enable provision of omnidirectional noise suppression frequency band, simplified design of a power plane, and reduction of production costs.

  • Patent number: 7602844
Abstract: An efficient method for calculating the step-sizes for a frequency-domain equalizer of a discrete-multitone communications system using signal power estimation and tone grouping (SPE-TG) while on-line. The SPE-TG method is used to calculate a plurality of subchannel step-sizes which are then stored in a lookup table. When on-line, the method uses signal power estimation to select step sizes for each tone, and uses these step sizes for frequency domain equalization. The SPE-TG method simplifies the calculations necessary for frequency domain equalization, thereby saving significant hardware and/or processing resources. The SPE-TG method is reliable and robust, and does not depend upon assumptions about the line, location, or channel.

  • Patent number: 7545871
Abstract: A discrete multi-tone (DMT) communication system is provided herein, replacing the conventional inversed discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) and DFT with IDHT (together with the complex-to-real transformation) and a DHT alone respectively at the transmitting end and the receiving end. A DHT-based frequency-domain equalizer (FEQ) at the receiving end equalizes each of the 0-th to (N?1)-th DHT subchannels, where N is the number of point of the DHT. Finally, each of the 0-th to ( N 2 - 1 ) - th subchannels of the DMT system is obtained by combining the k-th and (N-k)-th subchannels of the DHT-based FEQ for k=0, 1, . . . , ( N 2 - 1 ) .

  • Patent number: 7440150
Abstract: A flatbed scanner includes a housing, a glass plate fixed to the housing, a front rib formed at a bottom face of a front part of the housing and extending downward, a back rib formed at a bottom face of the back part of the housing and extending downward, and side ribs formed at two sides of the housing and extending toward the center of the housing. The inner distance from the back rib to the front rib is not smaller than the length of the glass plate. The side ribs are under the bottom faces of the front part and the back part so as to form a fastening gap. Because the distance between the side ribs is smaller than the width of the glass plate, when the glass plate is inserted into the fastening gap, the glass plate is held.

  • Patent number: 7408684
Abstract: A light source device capable of repressing light surges is fixed in a flatbed scanner to provide a light beam for scanning a document. The light source device includes a bent lamp with bent parts for generating the light beam and compensating for the brightness at two ends of the bent lamp; and a set of obscuring units fixed at the two bent parts to partially obscure the light of the lamp. Hence, the light source device can repress the light surge caused on two ends of the image sensor even if the bent parts at two ends of the lamp are very close to the sides of the scanning window. Therefore, the length of the light source device can be shortened and the width of the flatbed scanner using the light source device can also be narrowed.

  • Publication number: 20070169873
Abstract: A manufacturing method for a seamless hat that uses cloth material having a chemical fiber component, which is cut to form cut-out pieces having specific pattern outlines, then, after affixing superimposed edges of the stitched cut-out pieces, supersonic or high frequency equipment is used to administer heat processing on the fixedly joined edges of the cut-out pieces. Thereupon, any surplus material from the stitched cut-out pieces can be cut away, only leaving the very minimum of connecting gathered edges. Then, heating art is implemented to externally apply and cover the joined areas of the gathered edges with hold-down strips containing thermosol or thermal polyurethane (TPU) membrane, thereby fabricating a hat.
