  • Patent number: 10279194
Abstract: The invention relates to a HDR brachytherapy system comprising an ultrasound sensor for being arranged at the location of a brachytherapy catheter (12), wherein the ultrasound sensor is adapted to generate an ultrasound signal based on ultrasound radiation, which has been sent by an ultrasound imaging device preferentially comprising a TRUS probe (40) and which has been received by the ultrasound sensor. The position of the ultrasound sensor is determined based on the generated ultrasound signal, and based on this position of the ultrasound sensor the pose and shape of the brachytherapy catheter and/or the position of a HDR radiation source are determined. This allows for a very accurate determination of the pose and shape of the brachytherapy catheter and/or of the position of the HDR radiation source, which in turn can lead to an improved HDR brachytherapy.

  • Patent number: 10277518
Abstract: A network device organizes packets into various queues, in which the packets await processing. Queue management logic tracks how long certain packet(s), such as a designated marker packet, remain in a queue. Based thereon, the logic produces a measure of delay for the queue, referred to herein as the “queue delay.” Based on a comparison of the current queue delay to one or more thresholds, various associated delay-based actions may be performed, such as tagging and/or dropping packets departing from the queue, or preventing addition enqueues to the queue. In an embodiment, a queue may be expired based on the queue delay, and all packets dropped. In other embodiments, when a packet is dropped prior to enqueue into an assigned queue, copies of some or all of the packets already within the queue at the time the packet was dropped may be forwarded to a visibility component for analysis.

  • Publication number: 20190114255
Abstract: Storage devices, and methods for use therewith, are described herein. Such storage devices can include flash memory, random access memory (RAM), and a memory controller in communication therewith. To improve write performance, the memory controller is configured to store first and second data, corresponding to consecutive unaligned first and second write commands received within a threshold amount of time of one another from a host, sequentially relative to one another within the flash memory. This can involve temporarily storing a tail portion of the first data in the RAM until after a front portion of the first data is stored in the flash memory, and thereafter (after the second write command is received) using the tail portion of the first data to pre-pad a front portion of the second data when the second data is being stored in the flash memory.

  • Patent number: 10263919
Abstract: Techniques for more optimally balancing operations across a set of buffers, such as in buffering packets in a network device or in other contexts, are disclosed. The techniques make use of an ordered list of buffers from which the next available buffer is selected for each operation, as needed. The buffers are first prioritized based on the state(s) of the relevant buffers and/or other factors. The resulting ordered list is then processed using re-ordering logic. This re-ordering logic may, for example, randomly or pseudo-randomly trade the positions of various sets of buffers within the prioritized list. Among other effects, the re-ordering logic thus reduces buffer skew problems from delayed propagation of buffer state information and other issues. In an embodiment, the re-ordering logic is divided into multiple levels of processing, with each level separately passing through the list. Each level of processing may utilize differently configured re-ordering logic.

  • Patent number: 10242756
Abstract: Various systems and methods for predicting metabolic and bariatric surgery outcomes are provided. The systems and methods can also provide predictions for non-surgical metabolic and bariatric treatments. In general, a user can receive predictive outcomes of multiple bariatric procedures that could be performed on a patient. In one embodiment, a user can electronically access a metabolic and bariatric surgery outcome prediction system, e.g., using one or more web pages. The system can provide predictive outcomes of one or more different bariatric surgeries for the patient based on data gathered from the user and on historical data regarding outcomes of the different bariatric surgeries. The system can additionally provide predictive outcomes for not having any treatment and/or a comparison of the predictive outcomes of the one or more different bariatric surgeries to the predictive outcomes for not having any treatment.

  • Patent number: 10220510
Abstract: A unified collaboration environment is formed by establishing a local workspace positional frame of reference using a plurality of UWB transceivers. With a frame of reference established a communication link is established between each of the workspaces, and a collaboration module to establish a peer-to-peer network. Data is received from each of the workspaces including the local workspace frame of reference, the set of available assets and workspace behavior (tasks). The collaboration module crafts a unified collaboration environment by transforming the local workspace into a collaborative positional frame of reference. A user, through a user interface, can offer real-time input to a virtualized version of the workspace to augment actions within the workspace environment.
