  • Patent number: 9905271
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards presenting a current-playing-position marker on a progress bar along with real time content. An initial timeline value of the content may be determined, along with an initial presentation timestamp value for the first frame of the content. For each next frame of the content, a next timeline value may be determined based on a difference between a next presentation timestamp value for a corresponding next frame and the initial presentation timestamp value, and mapping of the next presentation timestamp value for the corresponding next frame and the next timeline value in the index file. The content and a progress bar may be displayed to the user on a remote device based on the index file. A position of the current-playing-position marker on the progress bar for each frame of the content may be determined based on the next timeline value for each corresponding frame.

  • Publication number: 20180025148
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method for enhancing standard authentication systems to include risk-based decisions. Risk-based decisions can be selectively implemented within existing authentication systems to strategically modify and supplement security if an unacceptable risk is detected. Embodiments capture information pertaining to a user and user device. Information is stored to create a profile for the user and user device. A comparison between the stored information and live data can be performed within authentication systems to optimize security. If the results of the comparison demonstrate the presence of an acceptable risk, then the need for subsequent authentication can be reduced or eliminated, which improves a user experience.

  • Publication number: 20180026983
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method of establishing a user profile using multiple channels. Embodiments allow compatibility of the user profile across several authentication systems. The user profile is created upon registration and is updated with attributes after authenticating and authorizing the user according to a pre-defined assurance level. The user profile contains attributes pertaining to the user and user device. The attributes can be analyzed by authentication systems to optimize data security.

  • Publication number: 20180000446
Abstract: A target biopsy system employing an ultrasound probe (20), a target biopsy needle (30) and a ultrasound guide controller (44). In operation, the ultrasound probe (20) projects an ultrasound plane intersecting an anatomical region (e.g. a liver). The target biopsy needle (30) include two or more ultrasound receivers (31) for sensing the ultrasound plane as the target biopsy needle (30) is inserted into the anatomical region. In response to the ultrasound receiver(s) (31) sensing the ultrasound plane, the ultrasound guide controller (44) predicts a biopsy trajectory of the target biopsy needle (30) within the anatomical region relative to the ultrasound plane. The prediction indicates the biopsy trajectory is either within the ultrasound plane (i.e., an in-plane biopsy trajectory) or outside of the ultrasound plane (i.e., an out-of-plane biopsy trajectory).

  • Publication number: 20170366201
Abstract: A coded signal is received via a physical channel. The coded signal is encoded by a parity check matrix. In some examples, the coded signal is low density parity check-encoded. The coded signal is decoded to determine a result signal. Said decoding alternatingly updates, for each one of a number of iterations, bit node values representing bits of the result signal and check node values representing constrains of the parity check matrix. In some examples, the decoding determines the result signal at a first precision and updates at least partly at a second precision which is lower than the first precision. In further examples, the number of iterations is dynamically adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20170358000
Abstract: Systems and methods for distributing online ads with electronic content according to a campaign strategy that is adjusted based on intraday modeling. One embodiment of the invention determines a campaign strategy for a current day allocating a daily budget to automatically bid on online ad opportunities using allocated budget amounts and distributes online ads during a first portion of the current day according to the campaign strategy. Current day data regarding use of the distributed online ads during the first portion of the current day is received and compared with historical data to determine a correction factor that accounts for a magnitude of difference between the current day data and the historical data. The campaign strategy for the current day is adjusted using the correction factor and additional online ads are distributed during a second, later portion of the current day according to the adjusted campaign strategy.

  • Patent number: 9841983
Abstract: Techniques to facilitate virtual machine (VM) host maintenance are disclosed. A host requiring maintenance is converted to a VM running on another host which satisfies certain requirements, such as having sufficient resources and the same network connectivity as the host requiring maintenance. As part of this physical-to-virtual conversion, or after said conversion, the VM may be synchronized to the host requiring maintenance, such that the CPU state and memory contents of the VM and host are identical. Active control may then be passed to the VM, and the host powered down for the maintenance. After maintenance is completed and the host powered back on, virtual-to-physical conversion may be applied to convert the VM back to the host. The host may then be synchronized to the VM, and active control passed back to the host.

  • Patent number: 9830534
Abstract: Approaches introduce a pre-processing and post-processing framework to a neural network-based approach to identify items represented in an image. For example, a classifier that is trained on several categories can be provided. An image that includes a representation of an item of interest is obtained. Rotated versions of the image are generated and each of a subset of the rotated images is analyzed to determine a probability that a respective image includes an instance of a particular category. The probabilities can be used to determine a probability distribution of output category data, and the data can be analyzed to select an image of the rotated versions of the image. Thereafter, a categorization tree can then be utilized, whereby for the item of interest represented the image, the category of the item can be determined. The determined category can be provided to an item retrieval algorithm to determine primary content for the item of interest.
