  • Patent number: 10719310
Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for reducing Keyboard, Video, and Mouse (KVM) downtime during firmware update or failover events are discussed. In some embodiments, a chassis may include: a plurality of Information Handling Systems (IHSs); a first Enclosure controller (EC); and a second EC coupled to the first EC, where the first and second ECs comprise program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the chassis to: establish a KVM session with a selected IHS via the first EC; in response to the first EC receiving a firmware update command, update and restart the second EC; notify the first EC, by the second EC, that the update and restart is completed; trigger by a first KVM process in the first EC, a second KVM process in the second EC; and take control, by the second EC, of the KVM session.

  • Publication number: 20200175154
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for employing a smart device for secure and authenticated event. The system may include a smart assistant device that receives an audible request from a user for an event with a merchant. The smart assistant device then establishes a secure active session with a mobile device associated with the user over a wireless network. The smart assistant device determines a digital voice ID for the received audible request for the event and transmits the digital voice ID and event information to the mobile device of the user. A smart assistant application of the mobile device validates the digital voice ID based on stored reference data. Event information and additional user execution information is then provided to an event processing system for asynchronous processing.

  • Patent number: 10590147
Abstract: The spirooxindole-pyrrolothiazole heterocyclic hybrids are compounds having the formula: wherein R is hydrogen and R? is fluorine (compound 6a) or R is fluorine and R? is hydrogen (compound 6b). The hybrids may be obtained using a chemical synthesis process involving 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of 3,5-bis(4/2-fluoro-benzylidene) piperidin-4-ones with isatin and 4-thiazolidinecarboxylic acid in a suitable solvent, preferably 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bromide (“[bmim]Br”), and preferably under microwave irradiation. Both of these new hybrids demonstrate antimicrobial activity against both gram positive and gram negative drug resistant and non-resistant bacterial pathogens, although compound 6a exhibits more potent antibacterial activity than compound 6b.

  • Patent number: 10506013
Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for providing video redirection across multiple Information Handling Systems (IHSs) are discussed. In some embodiments, a method may include: receiving, via a video redirection client, a video stream produced by a video redirection server executed by a Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) of a selected IHS; providing the video stream to a framebuffer driver, where the frame buffer driver is configured to: (i) store frame data from the video stream onto a framebuffer memory; and (ii) in response to a determination that a host is not available, transmit control signals to a graphics core via an Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture (AMBA) high-performance bus (AHB)-to-Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) (AHB-to-PCI) bridge, where the graphics core is accessible via a PCI bus exclusively when the host is available; and transmitting the frame data to a display coupled to the chassis.

  • Publication number: 20190354965
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for secure transfer of encrypted resources and asynchronous execution. In general, a user initiates an event with a merchant system and requests a secure resource transfer process associated with the event. Encrypted initial event details are transmitted through an asynchronous command form the merchant system to a computing device of the user, and resource information is identified at the computing device of the user. The computing device of the user then transmits the event details and the resource information to an event processing system for final execution.

  • Patent number: 10366279
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for executing multiple events in response to receiving an image and extracting identity and contact information from that image. As such, a facial recognition and image hashing process is applied to an image of multiple individuals associated with the multiple events to extract image hashes for each individual. These image hashes are then compared to known, stored image hashes to determine an identity and contact information for each individual. Once this information is collected, the system executes the multiple events based on the determined information about each individual.

  • Publication number: 20190012673
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for protecting biometric authentication information associated with a paper document are provided. A mobile device application may pre-associate the document with a biometric input. The mobile device application may generate a first composite hash value based on a combination of a numerical representation of a first image of the paper document and a numerical representation of a first biometric input. Subsequently, an authentication server may generate a second composite hash value based on a combination of a numerical representation of a second image of the paper document and a numerical representation of a second biometric input. The authentication server may determine whether an edit distance separating the second composite hash value and the first composite hash value is less than a threshold distance. If the edit distance is less than a threshold distance, the paper document may be authenticated.

  • Patent number: 10114779
Abstract: A redirected USB device can be isolated to a set of applications. A virtual bus driver on the server can be configured to evaluate each IO request packet that is directed towards the redirected USB device to determine whether the IO request packet was originated by an application that is permitted to access the redirected device. If the application is not permitted to access the redirected device, the virtual bus driver can prevent the IO request packet from being routed over the remote session to the device. In contrast, if the application is permitted to access the redirected device, the virtual bus driver can route the IO request packet accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20180267918
Abstract: A non-USB device can be virtualized as a USB device. When a non-USB device is connected to a client terminal, a filter driver can be employed to cause the non-USB device to be treated as a USB device to thereby allow the device to be redirected using USB device redirection techniques. When an I/O request is sent to the redirected device, the request will be in USB format since the server-side components will view the redirected device as a USB device. Then, the I/O request can be converted from the USB format into a format suitable for the non-USB device. Any response generated by the non-USB device can be converted to USB format in a similar manner. As a result, non-USB devices can be redirected without altering any of the existing server-side VDI components.

  • Patent number: 9807177
Abstract: In certain information handling system (IHS) environments, universal serial bus (USB) devices connected to a client are redirected to a server or other information handling system. Multiple remote sessions may be running on an IHS as well as multiple multi-server published applications within a given remote session. To make the USB devices seamlessly accessible to the user from a given session or application when a switch occurs to a new session or a new application, the USB device may be sent a reset command which acts like a plug-in/plug-out of the USB device. The USB device is then redirected to the new session or the new application. The server is notified of the reset or the re-connection of the USB device to appropriately virtualize the USB device.

  • Patent number: 9544179
Abstract: In particular embodiments, a client computing device identifies a USB device connected to the client computing device. The client computing device redirects the USB device to a remote server computing device. The client computing device determines whether the USB device is of a particular device type, and if the USB device is determined to be of the particular device type, then the client computing device requests data from the USB device. Upon receiving a response from the USB device comprising data, the client computing device sends the data to the remote server computing device.
