  • Patent number: 11658920
Abstract: Embodiments are described for an autonomously and dynamically allocating resources in a distributed network based on forecasted a-priori CPU resource utilization, rather than a manual throttle setting. A multivariate (CPU idle %, disk I/O, network and memory) rather than single variable approach for Probabilistic Weighted Fuzzy Time Series (PWFTS) is used for forecasting compute resources. The dynamic throttling is combined with an adaptive compute change rate detection and correction. A single spike detection and removal mechanism is used to prevent the application of too many frequent throttling changes. Such a method can be implemented for several use cases including, but not limited to: cloud data migration, replication to a storage server, system upgrades, bandwidth throttling in storage networks, and garbage collection.

  • Patent number: 11657819
Abstract: An apparatus includes a memory and a processor. The memory stores a machine learning algorithm configured to select between forwarding a request to an agent device and transmitting an automatically generated reply to the request. The processor receives feedback for a decision made by the algorithm, indicating whether the automatically generated reply includes the information sought by the request. If the algorithm decided to forward the request to the agent device, a reward is assigned to feedback that indicates that the reply does not include the information, while a punishment is assigned to feedback that indicates that the reply includes the information. If the algorithm decided to transmit the reply, a reward is assigned to feedback that indicates that the reply includes the information, and a punishment is assigned to feedback that indicates that the reply does not include the information. The processor updates the algorithm using the reward/punishment.

  • Patent number: 11659470
Abstract: Fifth Generation (5G) Millimeter Wave (mmWave) cellular networks are expected to serve a large set of throughput intensive, ultra-reliable, and ultra-low latency applications. To meet these stringent requirements, while minimizing the network cost, the 3rd Generation Partnership Project has proposed a new transport architecture, where certain functional blocks can be placed closer to the network edge. In this architecture, however, blockages and shadowing in 5G mmWave cellular networks may lead to frequent handovers (HOs) causing significant performance degradation. To meet the ultra-reliable and low-latency requirements of applications and services in an environment with frequent HOs, a Fast Inter-Base Station Ring (FIBR) architecture is described, in which base stations that are in close proximity are grouped together, interconnected by a bidirectional counter-rotating buffer insertion ring network.

  • Patent number: 11658876
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media are provided for provisioning a common subnet across a number of subscribers and their respective virtual networks using dynamically generated network policies that provide isolation between the subscribers. The dynamic generation of the network policies is performed when a host (e.g. client) is detected (via a switch) as the host joins the computing network via virtual networks. This ability to configure a common subnet for all the subscriber virtual networks allows these subscribers to more easily access external shared services coming from a headquarter site while keeping the separation and segmentation of multiple subscriber virtual networks within a single subnet. This allows the Enterprise fabric to be more simple and convenient to deploy without making security compromises.
