  • Publication number: 20230156588
Abstract: A wireless communication network serves User Equipment (UE) based on co-location and Received Signal Strength (RSS). A serving wireless access node selects itself for an uplink and downlink when no candidate wireless access nodes are co-located with the serving node. The serving node selects a candidate node for the uplink and downlink when the candidate node is co-located with the serving node and has an RSS level that exceeds a first threshold. The serving node selects itself for the uplink and selects a candidate node for the downlink when the candidate node is co-located with the serving node and has an RSS between the first threshold and a second threshold. The UE may trigger access node selection by entering idle mode. The serving node may condition the selection of a candidate node on whether the candidate node supports a wireless network slice for the UE.

  • Publication number: 20230155981
Abstract: Techniques and architecture are described for providing a service, e.g., a security service such as a firewall, across different virtual networks/VRFs/VPN IDs. The techniques and architecture provide modifications in enterprise computing fabrics by modifying pull-based overlay protocols such as, for example, locator/identifier separation protocol (LISP), border gateway protocol ethernet virtual private network (BGP EVPN), etc. A map request carries additional information to instruct a map-server that even though mapping (destination prefix and firewall service RLOC for the destination) is known within the map-server's own virtual network/VRF for firewall service insertion, the map-server still should do a lookup across virtual networks/VRFs and discover the final destination's DGT (destination group tag) and include that in the map reply.

  • Publication number: 20230155997
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for providing for trust in a distributed environment are disclosed. In a distributed environment, various devices may be remote to one another and may interact with one another via one or more operable connections. Through the operable connections, various communications may be exchanged. However, the operable connections may not natively support authentication of any particular device in the distributed system. Consequently, entities in the distributed system may not intrinsically trust that the communications received through the distributed environment are authentic. The entities of the system may mutually authenticate one another prior to trusting communications from the other entities. For example, in a scenario where a client wishes to access data hosted by a data source, the client and data source may go through a process of mutually authenticating one another. By doing so, a trusted environment may be established.
