  • Patent number: 12173160
Abstract: Modified lignin products, processes for making them, and their use to produce rigid polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foams are disclosed. The processes comprise heating a lignin source with a nitrogen source and a starved concentration of a C1-C5 aldehyde to give a reaction mixture comprising a Mannich condensation product, neutralizing the reaction mixture, and isolating the modified lignin product. The process is performed at a mass ratio of lignin source to nitrogen source within the range of 1:1 to 1:5 and at a molar ratio of nitrogen source to C1-C5 aldehyde within the range of 3.5:1 to 1:1. Polyol blends and performance additives that contain the modified lignin products are described. Rigid foams that process well and incorporate up to 60 wt. %, based on the amount of polyol component, of the modified lignin contribute to excellent flame retardancy and low-temperature R-value performance.

  • Patent number: 12177293
Abstract: Systems and methods for peer-to-peer video streaming from an edge data storage device to a browser are described. A surveillance video camera may establish a secure peer-to-peer connection using a first data transfer protocol with a user device. Once the secure peer-to-peer connection is established with the user device, out of band key exchange may occur through the peer-to-peer connection. Then, a shared key may be generated at both the video camera and the user device such that a request for media from the user device may be sent to a relay server over a second data transfer protocol. The video camera may then send an encrypted data file responsive to the media request over the second data transfer protocol to the relay server.

  • Patent number: 12175440
Abstract: An Augmented Reality (AR)-enabled Automated Teller Machine (ATM) receives a request to dispense cash equal to amount of an AR document. The AR document comprises an AR check. The AR-enabled ATM fetches a first AR check image from a memory. The AR-enabled ATM extracts a first set of features from the first AR check image. The AR-enabled ATM receives a second AR check image from a computing device associated with the receiver. The AR-enabled ATM extracts a second set of features from the second AR check image. The AR-enabled ATM compares the first AR check image with the second AR check image. The AR-enabled ATM determines whether the first AR check image corresponds to the second AR check image. In response to determining that the first AR check image corresponds to the second AR check image, the AR-enabled ATM dispenses cash equal to the amount.

  • Patent number: 12177943
Abstract: In one embodiment, a gateway to a Layer-3 network forms a first Layer-2 tunnel between the gateway and a first wireless access point (AP) that communicates wirelessly with a first mobile node of a mobile system (MS) via a first wireless connection. The gateway generates a mapping that associates an onboard device of the MS with the first AP and an identifier for the MS, based on traffic conveyed via the first Layer-2 tunnel and associated with the onboard device, the traffic comprising a header that indicates the identifier for the MS. The gateway receives, from a second AP, an indication that the MS is roaming from the first wireless connection to a second wireless connection, the indication including the identifier for the MS. The gateway updates the mapping to associate the onboard device of the MS with a second AP, based on the indication that the MS is roaming.

  • Patent number: 12174705
Abstract: An example methodology includes, by a node of an active-passive high availability (HA) cluster, determining that a container on the node has failed with an error and, responsive to a determination that the error is a new error, creating an error object that represents the error, creating an error object that represents the error and initializing a value of an error_code_value attribute in the error object to an initial_value_to_error_code attribute that indicates an initial value to assign to the error_code_value. The method also includes, by the node, incrementing a failcount attribute that indicates a count of a number of container failures on the node, determining whether to restart or failover the container based on a comparison of the failcount attribute and a failure count threshold, and, responsive to a determination to restart the container, attempting a restart of the container on the node.
