Abstract: A processor-based system employing a safety island architecture for fail-safe operation and related methods are disclosed. The processor-based system includes a main domain for controlling a device. The main domain receives and processes vehicle information from a vehicle network. The main domain communicates with vehicle modules to control operation of the vehicle. Such operation may include different autonomous driving use cases. The processing system includes a safety island domain that includes less hardware circuits as in the main domain. The safety island domain is configured to checkpoint vehicle information processed by both the main and safety island domains and to monitor errors originating in both the main and safety island.

  • Publication number: 20240330329
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, in accordance with one embodiment, includes collecting data from a plurality of predefined functional areas in a particular geographical area in which a plurality of physical objects are located, at least some of the data relating to vandalism. Wrangling is performed on the data to correlate the data from the functional areas with respective ones of the physical objects. The wrangled data corresponding to each of the physical objects is transformed into features corresponding to a the functional areas. For each of the physical objects, the features are processed according to predefined rules for generating a rank for each of the functional areas. Dynamic weights are computed for at least some of the features to account for data drift by comparing historical data with latest data. The ranks and dynamic weights are transformed into a vandalism score for each of the physical objects, which is output.

  • Publication number: 20240331815
Abstract: A named-entity recognition (NER) model detects named entities with types that correspond to protected health information (PHI) in potentially sensitive documents. The NER model is trained to detect named entities corresponding to both personally identifiable information (PII) and medical terms. Output of the NER model is preprocessed as input to a random forest classifier that outputs a verdict that documents comprise sensitive data. The verdict is interpretable via high confidence named entities detected by the NER model that led to the verdict.

  • Publication number: 20240333633
Abstract: Network energy efficiency and green power selection may be optimized by employing graph-oriented service chains configured to share sustainability attributes and metadata augmentation. More specifically, network Service Function Chain (SFC) creation can include a set of power and energy-specific and sustainable attributes. In general, the goal of SFC is to enable the creation of a service path that matches the specific needs of an application or service. SFCs are composed of a sequence of network functions, such as firewalls, load balancers, intrusion detection systems, and other services. Each network function performs a specific task on the network traffic, and the packets are passed from one function to the next until they reach their destination. Overall, SFCs are a powerful tool for managing complex network environments, enabling network administrators to deploy and manage network services more efficiently and effectively.

  • Publication number: 20240333815
Abstract: An improved information management system that implements a staging area or cache to temporarily store primary data in a native format before the primary data is converted into secondary copies in a secondary format is described herein. For example, the improved information management system can include various media agents that each include one or more high speed drives. When a client computing device provides primary data for conversion into secondary copies, the primary data can initially be stored in the native format in the high speed drive(s). If the client computing device then submits a request for the primary data, the media agent can simply retrieve the primary data from the high speed drive(s) and transmit the primary data to the client computing device. Because the primary data is already in the native format, no conversion operations are performed by the media agent, thereby reducing the restore delay.
