  • Publication number: 20240329827
Abstract: Techniques for fingerprint encoded gesture initiation of device actions are described and are implementable to perform a variety of functionality based on touch-based gestures that are fingerprint encoded. For instance, a mobile device receives an input including a touch-based gesture. The mobile device generates fingerprint identity information based on the touch-based gesture, such as by a fingerprint sensor area that is operable to detect a pattern of a fingerprint in contact with the fingerprint sensor area. Based on the fingerprint identity information, the mobile device determines that the fingerprint identity information is associated with a user of the mobile device. The mobile device then performs an action that corresponds to the touch-based gesture, e.g., based on a shape of the gesture. In one example, the action includes display of a customized user interface associated with a user profile that corresponds to the touch-based gesture.

  • Patent number: 12107776
Abstract: In an example, a network switch is configured to natively act as a high-speed load balancer. Numerous load-balancing techniques may be used, including one that bases the traffic “bucket” on a source IP address of an incoming packet. This particular technique provides a network administrator a powerful tool for shaping network traffic. For example, by assigning certain classes of computers on the network particular IP addresses, the network administrator can ensure that the traffic is load balanced in a desirable fashion. To further increase flexibility, the network administrator may apply a bit mask to the IP address, and expose only a portion, selected from a desired octet of the address.

  • Patent number: 12105670
Abstract: A processing system manages an ordered set of hierarchical data structures representing snapshots that define the state of a filesystem at different points in time. The data structures include nodes that store strong references, which can be utilized to read or write data, or weak references that can be only utilized to read data. In order to create a new snapshot, a root node is created for a new data structure representing the new snapshot by copying the root node of the data structure representing an active view of the filesystem. Any strong references stored in the copy of the root node are then changed to weak references. Snapshotting operations can then be performed with respect to the new snapshot utilizing the weak references stored in the root node of the new data structure.
