  • Publication number: 20240305742
Abstract: In some aspects, control circuitry receives and stores a user-specified time duration to associate with a skip-forward command. When the user later issues a skip-forward command to advance playback of a media asset to a desired location, the control circuitry retrieves the stored time duration, and determines an expected overshoot value associated with the skip-forward command. The control circuitry then compensates for the expected overshoot by calculating a new location in the media asset based on both the retrieved time duration and expected overshoot value. Upon advancing to the new location, the media asset is played back in a fast-forward mode, e.g., at a speed higher than normal speed.

  • Publication number: 20240304463
Abstract: An electrical component is provided by metallizing holes that extend through a glass substrate. The electrical component can be fabricated by forcing a suspension of electrically conductive particles suspended in a liquid medium through the holes. The suspension can be forced into the holes under an air pressure differential such as a vacuum force, a centrifugal force, or an electrostatic force. The liquid medium in the holes can be dried, and the particles can be sintered. The particles can further be packed in the hole. Alternatively or additionally, the particles can be pressed against the outer surfaces of the substrate to produce buttons.

  • Publication number: 20240305552
Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to manage an active/standby gateway configuration using Duplicate Address Detection (DAD) packets. In one implementation, a first gateway determines that a heartbeat connection with a second gateway has failed. In response to the failed heartbeat connection, the first gateway implements a packet filter for the data plane that permits DAD packets but blocks one or more other protocols. The first gateway then determines whether a response is received to the DAD packets within a timeout period. If received, the first gateway will revert to a standby state. If not received, the first gateway will assume the active state in place of the second gateway.

  • Publication number: 20240303403
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for simulation of a circuit design using a set of primary signals captured by a hardware emulation system. In preparation for simulation, the circuit design is divided into partitions that are substantially uniform in size. Sequential dependencies are then identified based on signals that cross partitions. The set of primary signals includes signals that, when provided as input to the simulation, break the sequential dependencies such that each partition can be simulated independently. Techniques for determining which signals to include in the set of primary signals are also disclosed. The hardware emulation system is configured to capture values of the primary signals as part of emulating the circuit design. Afterwards, the simulation is performed using the captured values. During the simulation, non-primary signals are reconstructed using values obtained from simulating each partition independently.

  • Publication number: 20240303710
Abstract: A system, for example, an online system uses a machine learning based language model, for example, a large language model (LLM) to process crowd-sourced information provided by users. The crowd-sourced information may include comments from users represented as unstructured text. The system further receives queries from users and answers the queries based on the crowd-sourced information collected by the system. The system generates a prompt for input to a machine-learned language model based on the query. The system provides the prompt to the machine-learned language model for execution and receives a response from the machine-learned language model. The response comprises the insight on the topic and evidence for the insight. The evidence identifies one or more comments used to obtain the insight.

  • Publication number: 20240300815
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing hydrogen, having a steam methane reforming step for producing synthesis gas, in which heat for the endothermic reaction is at least partially provided by converting electrical energy into heat. The synthesis gas is subject to a water-gas shift step and the shift product is separated into a hydrogen product and a tail gas. The latter is subject to a tail gas separation step, producing a hydrogen rich stream, a carbon dioxide product, and an off-gas stream rich in carbon monoxide and methane. The hydrogen rich stream is recycled to the shifted synthesis gas. According to the invention, off-gas obtained in the tail gas separation step is recycled to the hydrocarbon containing feedstock stream, so that a combined stream of hydrocarbon containing feedstock, off-gas and steam is supplied to the steam methane reforming step.

Abstract: A computing resource allocation system receives entity resource usage data describing computing resource usage of an executable service platform by an entity as part of a first allocation generated using a first allocation mechanism. A computing resource allocation system generates an entity resource model based on the entity resource usage data of the computing resource usage of the executable service platform as part of the first allocation mechanism. A computing resource allocation system simulates computing resource usage of the executable service platform by the entity as part of a second allocation mechanism based on the entity resource model and the entity resource usage data. A computing resource allocation system estimates a second allocation to provide to the entity based on the simulating.

  • Publication number: 20240303713
Abstract: A system is configured to train a customer understanding model to generate a preference score for substitution items. The customer understanding model generates a preference score for each of a plurality of related substitution items based on order data including data indicative of at least one item ordered and location data indicating a location of a first store. The customer understanding model ranks each of the substitution items based on the preference score. Order data is transmitted including substitution data identifying each of the substitution items and corresponding rank. Performance data associated with a set of operations implemented based on the order data and the substitution data is obtained. An updated customer understanding model is trained based on the performance data and iteratively modified based on the updated training dataset and updated performance metrics generated from second performance data.

  • Publication number: 20240303152
Abstract: A central system coupled to a subsystem receives a fault indication associated with a fault in one or more circuits of the subsystem from a local fault collection and control (FCCS) of the subsystem when a software recovery of the fault fails. Based on the received fault indication, the local FCCS and a central FCCS of a central system is masked from additional fault indications from the one or more circuits. The central system then signals the reset of the one or more circuits of the subsystem after the masking of the additional fault indications, wherein the one or more circuits is reset based on the signaling and the additional faults are masked from one or more of the local FCCS and central FCCS during the reset.

  • Publication number: 20240303481
Abstract: A method and system for predicting a fuel consumption of an aircraft is disclosed. First, a centralized machine learning model is built and trained using available public data. A version of the centralized model is then sent to one or more edge computing devices controlled by entities that own aircraft, and they input their proprietary data into the version of the centralized model they receive. The received version of the centralized model is trained using the proprietary data and a neural network gain for the centralized machine learning model is determined based on a weighted average of edge neural network gains from the edge computing devices. This neural network gain is used to further train the centralized model to give a more accurate prediction of the fuel consumption without the centralized machine learning model actually ever receiving and being trained with the proprietary data of the airlines and other entities.
