  • Publication number: 20240048229
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method performed by a UE in a wireless communication system using satellite access is provided. The method includes identifying whether an NAS procedure is completable before a start of a DC; and in case that the NAS procedure is completable before the start of the DC, initiating the NAS procedure by transmitting a request message to a network entity. And a method for a UE in a communications network using a satellite to access the network comprises verifying if a communication process between the UE and the network via the satellite can be completed before a start of an unavailability period of the satellite or cannot be completed before a start of an unavailability period of the satellite. The UE may only initiate the communication process when it verifies that there is enough time for the communication process to be completed the start of the unavailability period of the satellite.

  • Publication number: 20240045893
Abstract: The invention proposes a method and system for deriving real-time insights about heterogeneous infrastructure by allowing a user to post a natural language query. A natural language processing (NLP) engine converts the natural language query into a computer identifiable query. A query engine (QE), based on the computer identifiable query, predicts diverse infrastructure-specific commands. The QE utilizes Machine Learning (ML) models to understand the intent of the natural language query and predict the diverse infrastructure-specific commands. The QE transforms and forwards the infrastructure-specific commands to corresponding components of the heterogeneous infrastructure. One or more sensors integrated with the components of the heterogeneous infrastructure receive query from the QE and respond to the queries in real-time. An interpreter module converts the responses received from the sensors into a common data format and derives insights from the converted responses and transmits them to the user device.

  • Publication number: 20240048464
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for addressing issues caused by interruptions that may occur while operating under the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) 35.1 standard. A method, according to one implementation, includes obtaining PM data during a current Measurement Interval of an ongoing PM session in accordance with MEF 35.1. The PM data can be locally stored as a current dataset and reported at the end of the current Measurement Interval for storage in a history database. Following an interruption event that interrupts at least the current Measurement Interval, the method detects a recommencement event that clears the interruption event and allows a PM session to resume. The method further includes determining a number of Measurement Intervals affected by the interruption event based on an end time of a last-reported Measurement Interval and then inserting the number of affected Measurement Intervals into the history database after the last-reported Measurement Interval.

  • Patent number: 11891069
Abstract: This document describes techniques, apparatuses, and systems for a grid-based road model with multiple layers. An example road-perception system generates a roadway grid representation that includes multiple cells. The road-perception system uses data from multiple information sources to generate a road model that includes multiple layers. Each layer represents a roadway attribute of each cell in the grid and includes one or more layer hypotheses. In this way, the described techniques and systems can provide an accurate and reliable road model and quantify uncertainty therein.

  • Patent number: 11895361
Abstract: A graphics verification system that handles content of a channel in a broadcast chain, partitions an on-screen view of the channel into a plurality of sections based on an overlay of a plurality of graphics on the on-screen view of the channel. The content may comprise media content and may include video, audio and/or ancillary data that is associated with any portion of a particular content. A placement of each of the overlaid plurality of graphics in the plurality of sections is determined with respect to associated content on the on-screen view of the channel. The placement is determined based on a concurrent look-up of the overlaid plurality of graphics in the plurality of sections and the associated content. The concurrent look-up is based on fingerprints or watermarks of the plurality of graphics and the associated content. One or more error parameters are detected based on the determined placement.

  • Patent number: 11893404
Abstract: A system is provided that enables efficient traffic forwarding in a hypervisor. During operation, the hypervisor determines that a packet is from a first virtual machine (VM) running on the hypervisor and destined to a second VM running on a remote hypervisor. The hypervisor then includes a virtual local area network (VLAN) identifier of a transit VLAN (TVLAN) in a layer-2 header of the packet. The TVLAN is dedicated for inter-VM traffic associated with a distributed virtual routing (DVR) instance operating on the hypervisor and the remote hypervisor. Subsequently, the hypervisor sets a first media access control (MAC) address of the hypervisor as a source MAC address and a second MAC address of the remote hypervisor as a destination MAC address in the layer-2 header. The hypervisor then determines an egress port for the packet based on the second MAC address.

  • Patent number: 11892469
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to monitoring health of a system for sensing rotational frequency of a rotatable member. A plurality of magnetic speed probes, each of which is configured to sense the rotational frequency of the rotatable member, are arranged in transmissive proximity with one another. A transmitter-configured one of the plurality of magnetic speed probes includes a signal coupler that couples an electrical signal generated by a radio-frequency signal generator into the inductive coil of the transmitter-configured magnetic speed probe, thereby radiatively transmitting an electromagnetic signal. A speed-probe monitor electrically coupled to each of the plurality of magnetic speed probes determines, based on the coil current sensed by each of the plurality of magnetic speed probes in response to the electromagnetic signal radiatively transmitted, health of the system.

  • Patent number: 11895008
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device generates a plurality of smoothed timeseries by applying smoothing envelopes of different durations to a timeseries of a path metric for a path in a network that is used to convey traffic of an online application. The device uses the plurality of smoothed timeseries and the timeseries of the path metric to make predictions as to whether the path will provide an unacceptable user experience in the online application. The device selects a smoothing envelope of a particular duration, by comparing performance metrics for the predictions. The device uses a timeseries of the path metric smoothed using the smoothing envelope of the particular duration to make predictive routing decisions in the network for the traffic of the online application.

  • Patent number: 11893349
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating phonetic spelling variations of a given word based on locale-specific pronunciations. A phoneme-letter density model may be configured to identify a phoneme sequence corresponding to an input word, and to identify all character sequences that may correspond to an input phoneme sequence and their respective probabilities. The phoneme-phoneme error model may be configured to identify locale-specific alternative phoneme sequences that may correspond to a given phoneme sequence, and their respective probabilities. Using these two models, a processing system may be configured to generate, for a given input word, a list of alternative character sequences that may correspond to the input word based on locale-specific pronunciations, and/or a probability distribution representing how likely each alternative character sequence is to correspond to the input word.
