The method also includes receiving information from the one or more other electronic devices, the information corresponding to the situation.     Abstract: A method and system for remote control of a desktop computer from a hand held mobile device having a display. A desktop screen image is split into regions, showing a part of a region on the screen of the mobile device. A virtual trackball is provided which includes a location button and trackball button. The location button operates as a virtual mouse which can be used to click on hotspots and when the virtual mouse cursor is about to cross the boundary of screen regions the next available screen region will smoothly slide onto the device screen. The trackball button is useable to switch between hotspots which can be identified through local image analysis.
