    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a punch hole detection section, a position calculating section, an image adding section, and an image forming section. The punch hole detection section analyzes image data of a scan image obtained through scanning of an original document to detect two punch hole images. The position calculating section calculates a midpoint between the two punch hole images in the scan image when the two punch hole images are detected. The image adding section adds image data of a midpoint indicating image to the image data of the scan image so that the midpoint indicating image is added to the scan image at a position corresponding to the midpoint. The image forming section performs image formation on a sheet based on the image data of the scan image to which the image data of the midpoint indicating image has been added.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus has a trial printing mode in which, when printing of a plurality of sheets of an image of a read document is requested, one sheet is printed first, the printing is interrupted once, and then the remaining sheets are printed after the interruption of the printing is released. The image forming apparatus has an image reading device, a printing unit, a judgment unit, and a control unit. The image reading device reads an image of a document. The printing unit prints an image on paper. The judgment unit judges whether or not an image read by the image reading device is outside an image formation region of paper to be printed by the printing unit. When the judgment unit judges that the image is outside the image formation region of the paper, the control unit controls the image forming apparatus to enter the trial printing mode.
