The image data acquiring portion is configured to acquire first image data representing a color image. The image determining portion is configured to determine whether or not the image represented by the first image data is an image mainly composed of black characters. The image data converting portion is configured to convert the first image data to second image data by converting the first image data to binary image data when the image determining portion determines that the image represented by the first image data is an image mainly composed of black characters.

Abstract: A food and drink conveying device used while being laid on a conveyance path of a conveying apparatus, including a plate loading portion; a detection means for detecting a plate laid on the plate loading portion; a retaining member fixed to the plate loading portion for retaining a plate cover over the plate loading portion; and a removal means for removing the plate cover retained in the retaining member to be put on a plate laid on the plate loading portion. In the food and drink conveying device, the removal means is operated at the time of the detection means detecting the plate laid on the plate loading portion so that the plate cover removed from the retaining means is to be put on the plate.

Abstract: An image processing device includes a mode instruction information obtaining section, a color determination threshold storage section, a mode determination section, and an automatic color determination threshold adjustment section. The mode determination section, using a color determination threshold, determines a mode to be a color mode when the image data belongs to a color mode range, and determines the mode to be a monochrome mode when the image data belongs to a monochrome mode range. The automatic color determination threshold adjustment section adjusts the color determination threshold so as to widen a mode range corresponding to the mode determined by the mode determination section, when the mode indicated by the instruction information obtained by the mode instruction information obtaining section is different from the mode determined by the mode determination section.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a document conveying unit, an image reading unit, a gradient calculating unit, a gradient comparing unit and a document discriminating unit. The image reading unit scans a document conveyed by the document conveying unit in a scanning direction orthogonal to a conveying direction and detects pixel values of color components of each pixel. The gradient calculating unit calculates a gradient of the pixel value of each color component in the conveying direction for each pixel based on the detected pixel values. The gradient comparing unit compares differences of gradients among color components for each pixel and extracts the pixel where the graduent difference is below a threshold value. The document discriminating unit discriminates whether each pixel is color or black-and-white based on pixel values using discrimination criteria different for the specific pixels extracted by the gradient comparing unit and other pixels.

Abstract: In a food management system for managing a food carried by a food plate carrier put on the conveyor line, the food plate carrier comprises a mounting platform having a plate resting portion for resting thereon a plate, and a cover for covering the plate resting portion, the cover being attached to the mounting platform in such a manner as to open and close with respect to the plate resting portion, and the food management system comprises an IC tag attached to the food plate carrier, a reader for reading data on the food from the IC tag, an open-close detector for detecting opening and closing of the cover of the food plate carrier, and a controller for computing data on the food, based on the data read by the reader and the data on the opening and closing of the cover detected by the open-close detector.

Surplus hydraulic pressure that is generated when hydrolysis of the cellulosic biomass is completed is recovered as compression power of the hydraulic cylinder-type steam compressor. Moreover, flash steam generated from slurry containing a hydrolysate is supplied to the hydraulic cylinder-type steam compressor for cyclic use of the flash steam.

On the other hand, if it is determined that the special pattern is not included, the print image generating section accumulates the image data of the document image directly into the memory.
