  • Patent number: 4392337
Abstract: A plastic carrier sheet is attached to containers by passing the sheet, via openings therein, onto funnel members whose large-diameter portions are engaged with the peripheral edge of the containers, passing onto the funnel members, from the small-diameter portions to the large-diameter portions thereof, sleeve members each containing an opening having an edge diameter smaller than the largest diameter of the funnel members and having an edge which is expandable, whereby the sleeve members push the edges of the openings of the carrier sheet toward the large-diameter portions of the funnel members to expand the openings and enable the circumferential portions to ride over and past the peripheral edges of the corresponding containers.

  • Patent number: 4309137
Abstract: A blind rivet of plastic material, comprising a shank and a rivet body disposed round the shank and separated into an upper portion and a lower portion such that, when the shank is lifted up relative to the rivet body for the purpose of binding given panels, one of the upper and lower portions of the rivet body is caused to ride over the other of the aforementioned two portions and consequently the rivet body as a whole is expanded outwardly in the radial direction, enabling the panels to be pressed tightly against each other and secured fast in position.

  • Patent number: 4306824
Abstract: A blind rivet comprising a shank and a rivet body enclosing the shank, the rivet body containing in the cylindrical wall thereof wedge means and windows possessing spaces for admitting the wedge means such that, when the blind rivet is inserted through holes perforated in advance in the panels to be joined therewith and, subsequently, the shank is slid up the interior of the rivet body, the cylindrical wall of the rivet body is bent outwardly in the radial direction and, at the same time, the wedge means are raised and forced into the spaces of the windows, causing the cylindrical wall of the rivet body to be brought into tight contact with the edges of the holes in the panels and consequently enabling the blind rivet to be secured to the panels.

  • Patent number: 4281307
Abstract: A thermal cut-off fuse of a self-restoring type, which breaks the electric continuity between a pair of lead wires in response to melting and voluminal expansion of a temperature-sensitive member upon rise of the ambient temperature to a prescribed temperature and, in response to restoration of spring means upon fall of the ambient temperature below the prescribed temperature, reestablishes the electric continuity between the pair of lead wires.

  • Patent number: 4250596
Abstract: A method of fixing trim on an object to be bake-painted and a device for carrying out said method are disclosed. The device for fixing trim on the object to be bake-painted has a depression from therein and the depression is filled with a thermosetting synthetic adhesive. A strong bond between said trim-fixing device and an object is obtained by temporarily attaching the device with a suitable means to the object at a prescribed position and heat-treating the painted object with the device temporarily attached and thereby, curing the paint and the adhesive and at the same time, bonding the trim-fixing device fast to the object by the adhesive.

  • Patent number: 4229973
Abstract: A device for braking the motion of the float of a float type liquid-level gauge used with a liquid container, comprising a casing, a vane member disposed in the casing in such a manner as to produce a motion relative to the casing, a fluid placed to fill the inner space of the casing now containing the vane member and retaining an extra space for permitting the relative motion of the vane member, and a path formed in the casing to permit flow of the fluid inside the inner space of the casing during the aforementioned relative motion of the vane member inside the casing. In actual use, the casing is fixed in position and the vane member is connected with a member adapted to move in conjunction with the float of the float type liquid-level gauge. When a sudden, momentary displacement occurs in the liquid level in the liquid container with which the liquid-level gauge is used, the float kept on the liquid surface by buoyant force tends to follow the displacement.
