Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure a parameter associated with a secondary cell group. The UE may perform an optimization response action for a dual connectivity mode of a first frequency parameter or a second frequency parameter when the parameter satisfies a threshold, wherein the optimization response action is associated with whether the secondary cell group is operating with the first frequency parameter or the second frequency parameter. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Patent number: 11184785
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive information from a network node. The system information may include inter-frequency configuration and measurement reporting configuration. The UE may perform a measurement of a frequency or multiple frequencies that are associated with the inter-frequency configuration. Subsequent to the measurement, the UE may transmit a report of the measurement of the frequency or multiple frequencies to the network node during a radio resource control (RRC) connection procedure based on the measurement reporting configuration.

  • Patent number: 11166202
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, apparatuses and computer-readable medium for wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a first base station (BS) associated with a fifth generation New Radio (5G NR) radio access technology (RAT), a command of mobility from the 5G NR RAT to a second RAT. • Publication number: 20210314270
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for packet buffering. A method that may be performed by a receiving node includes dynamically determining one or more time durations to buffer packets. The one or more time durations can be different than a time duration of a configured timer for buffering the packets. The receiving node may input one or more parameters to a machine learning algorithm and obtain, as output of the machine learning algorithm based on the input one or more parameters, one or more time durations to buffer packets. The receiving node buffers packets for the determined one or more time durations. The receiving node may use machine learning to dynamically determine the one or more time durations to buffer packet. The buffering may be at a radio link control (RLC) reassembling buffer and/or a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) buffer.

  • Patent number: 10972876
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for providing local broadcasts for group calls. A user equipment (UE) may request a group call, and either a base station or a local server dedicated to the base station may determine whether to allow the group call based at least in part on an assessed level of interest for the group call. If the group call occurs, the UE may perform one or more aspects of user plane processing for the broadcast data—such as setting Internet protocol (IP) addresses in IP packets, encryption, compression, or media formatting—and may transmit the broadcast data to the base station. The base station may then transmit the broadcast data to one or more interested UEs via one or more multicast transmissions without routing the broadcast data through other network nodes, which may reduce latency and provide other benefits.

  • Publication number: 20210051540
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). In one aspect, the UE is configured to generate a handover request related to a wireless communication session between the UE and a wireless local area network (WLAN) device, and establish, independent of an access check, a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a base station. In another aspect, the UE is configured to perform an access check based on a bias value, and establish an RRC connection with a base station based on a result of the access check. The access check performed based on a communication indicator related to a wireless communication session between the UE and a WLAN device.

  • Publication number: 20210044336
Abstract: Aspects presented herein enable updating the codebook configuration upon the changing of the cover or case of the UE. The apparatus applies a first codebook from a plurality of preconfigured codebooks. The apparatus detects a change of a cover state of the UE, wherein the change alters a transmission beam pattern at the UE. The apparatus applies a second codebook from the plurality of preconfigured codebooks based on the change of the cover state.

  • Publication number: 20210045177
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that a network configuration procedure has failed a threshold number of times for a first radio access technology (RAT). The UE may perform a first action to prevent execution of the network configuration procedure until a timer has elapsed based at least in part on determining that the network configuration procedure has failed the threshold number of times. The first action may include transmitting a message that indicates that the UE does not have a capability to communicate using the first RAT, barring a cell or a tracking area of the first RAT or a second RAT that assists with establishing a radio access network connection for the first RAT, and/or refraining from reporting measurement results for the first RAT.
