The audio data is encrypted and recorded to prevent illegal copying of the higher quality sound data. Accordingly, audio data may be reproduced using the unencrypted audio data in a reproducing apparatus complying with existing specifications. Higher quality audio may be reproduced from the encrypted audio data using the present invention.
