  • Publication number: 20190284857
Abstract: Adjustable hinge assemblies for partially or completely rotating an object joined thereto about an axis in specific, pre-determined increments defined by the interaction of ball pins and detents permit the adjustable hinge to retain an attached object in specific rotational positions until sufficient force is applied in the plane of rotation to overcome this interaction. In certain cases the object may be a door, window, baffle, or airfoil. Preferably, the adjustable hinges may be used as part of a sneeze guard assembly to hold a main sneeze guard pane whose angle can be adjusted to protect food from airborne contamination, such as in airborne saliva or mucus droplets. An optional tuck-away hinge pane prevents contamination of food from the ends of the sneeze guard assembly.

  • Patent number: 10266703
Abstract: A functionalized ethylene-based polymer dissolved in an appropriate solvent and applied to a nonpolar surface can change the surface polarity/characteristics of the nonpolar surface. This change to the surface polarity/characteristics of the nonpolar surface allows adhesion of materials, such as paint, to surfaces such as polypropylene, polyethylene and polyolefin elastomers.

  • Patent number: 9877712
Abstract: Cannula assemblies and methods of conducting surgeries. The cannula assembly comprises a cannula that is sized for the common 4 mm arthroscopy switching stick, which is put in a one-step fashion with the use of a unique switching stick inserter. All steps for placement of the cannula are performed in a single forward motion, i.e., no backing up of components are necessary for placement. The method of conducting surgery includes the steps of: providing a cannula/switching stick assembly comprising a cannula sized to accommodate a corresponding switching stick, and a switching stick inserter (modular handle) designed to fit on the switching stick, and to help insert and control the switching stick; and inserting the cannula/switching stick assembly through an arthroscopic portal during a surgical procedure, in a single forward motion.
