The anchor peg includes a cylindrical shaft extending from the first surface of the body portion and a fin secured to and extending outwardly from the cylindrical shaft. The glenoid component further includes a feature that prevents rotation of the glenoid component.

At least one of two pegs of a base component is flexed toward the other peg and the two pegs are positioned partially within the bores in the flexed position. At least one stiffening pin is inserted into a first passageway formed in the first peg after the first peg has been fully inserted into the first bore.

    Abstract: A method of preparing a shoulder to receive a glenoid component includes accessing a glenoid of a shoulder, positioning a distal portion and a proximal portion of a combination power extension/anti-rotation device on a guide wire positioned in the shoulder and reaming a hole in the shoulder using the combination power extension/anti-rotation device with the distal portion and the proximal portion positioned on the guide wire. The proximal portion is removed from the guide wire and pivoted with respect to the distal portion while the distal portion is still positioned on the guide wire. The picoted proximal portion is used to rotate an instrument to a first position and a bore is formed in the glenoid through the instrument with the instrument at the first position.

At least one of the first peg and the second peg is flexed so that a first end portion of the first peg and a second end portion of the second peg are offset by a second distance which corresponds to the first distance. The first end portion of the first peg and the second end portion of the second peg are then advanced into the first bore and the second bore, respectively.
