The dishwasher appliance may also include features for determining the cause of the flood event. Moreover, methods for flood protection of the dishwasher appliance are also provided.

Abstract: A dishwasher appliance includes a spray nozzle having a housing defining a spray chamber in fluid communication with a fluid circulation assembly. A diversion element is positioned within the spray chamber and is movable between a lowered position and a raised position where it contacts a discharge orifice. The diversion element defines a plurality of flow paths that are randomly oriented relative to the discharge orifice every time the diversion element is moved into the raised position, such as when the fluid circulation assembly cycles off and then on again.

The method includes providing a front end application that is in communication with the first and second legacy computer systems, with the application being displayed on a user interface of a computer. A method of circulating fluid includes operating the circulation pump at a first speed less than a target speed for a first amount of time. The method also includes determining a first minimum pressure value based on the first speed and a position of the diverter and monitoring a pressure upstream of the circulation pump with the pressure sensor. The method further includes operating the circulation pump at a second speed greater than the first speed when the monitored pressure continuously exceeds the first minimum pressure value for a second amount of time and determining a second minimum pressure value based on the second speed and the position of the diverter after operating the circulation pump at the second speed for a third amount of time.
