  • Patent number: 9379844
Abstract: A base station is provided. The base station includes transmit path circuitry that generates an uplink grant using an uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) downlink control information (DCI) format. The uplink MIMO DCI format includes a modulation and coding scheme (MSC) field having an MCS value for each of two transport blocks. The transmit path circuitry transmits the uplink grant to a subscriber station. For a given transport block, a combination of the MCS value corresponding to the transport block and a number positive integer of physical resource blocks allocated to the subscriber station (N_PRB) indicates whether the transport block is disabled.

  • Patent number: 9307518
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for performing communication by a UE in a mobile communication system. A speed of the UE is measured by using an acceleration sensor in the UE. The UE determines that a change of the measured speed is detected in accordance with a predetermined criteria. The UE transmits information about the measured speed to a serving base station if the change of the measured speed is detected. Information about a target cell determined by the serving base station based on the measured speed is received from the serving base station. A handover procedure to the target cell is performed in response to receiving the information about the target cell.

  • Publication number: 20160073372
Abstract: A signal transmitted from a mobile device is received at a device. A change in angle-of-arrival (AoA) of the signal is computed as the mobile device moves from a first location to a second location. A first distance and a second distance of the mobile from the device corresponding to the first and second locations, respectively are computed. A displacement of the mobile device from the first location to the second location is computed based on mobility information provided by a sensor of the mobile device. A change in an angle of direct path (ANDP) of the signal is computed based on the first distance, the second distance, and the displacement. The ANDP is determined based on a comparison of the change in AoA to the change in ANDP.
