  • Publication number: 20050068473
Abstract: A backlight assembly includes a light guide plate including a light incident face, a light exiting face extended from one end portion of the light incident face, and a reflection face extended from another end portion of the light incident face. The reflection face includes a first reflection face extended from another end portion of the light incident face, and a second reflection face horizontally extended from the first reflection face. The backlight assembly additionally includes a light adsorption member disposed adjacent to the reflection face to prevent the light from reflecting. A reflection plate and optical sheets are disposed adjacent to the light guide plate, so that entire thickness of the backlight assembly is reduced. • Publication number: 20050024554
Abstract: A method for illuminating a liquid crystal display device, a back-light assembly for performing the same and a liquid crystal display device using the same can improve the front luminance and production yield. Lights from a lamp is incident to a LCD panel side, which are then primarily diffused for a uniformity of the luminous flux of the incident lights. The luminous flux of the primarily diffused lights is condensed with respect to a first orientation component on a plane in parallel with the LCD panel, and then partially and secondarily diffused for extending a view angle of pixels of the LCD panel. After the luminous flux of the secondarily diffused lights is condensed with respect to a second orientation component perpendicular to the first orientation on the parallel plane, the condensed lights are illuminated onto the LCD panel.

  • Publication number: 20050002172
Abstract: A diffusively reflective film includes a base film, a light reflection layer and a light diffusion layer. The base film is flexible. The light reflection layer is disposed on the base film. The light reflection film reflects a first light. The light diffusion layer is disposed on the light reflection layer. The light diffusion layer diffuses the first light to form a second light. The diffusively reflective film may be bent to cover the light guide plate without being broken so as to increase the amount of light. Thus, a display quality is enhanced. Further, the diffusively reflective film covers the first side face, the second side face and the first face of light guide plate at once. Thus, productivity is enhanced and its manufacturing cost is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20040263042
Abstract: In a lamp and method for fabricating the same, an outer surface of the lamp tube is dipped into a conductive transparent solution for forming an electrode by a predetermined depth, and then the lamp tube is pulled out from the solution. Accordingly, an electrode having different profiles is formed on the outer surface of the tube body. Also, the outer surface of the lamp tube is dipped into the solution by an acute angle, and is pulled out from the solution. Therefore, a problem of a nonuniform brightness between lamps is not generated, and light utilization efficiency is much enhanced even when using a plurality of lamp in parallel connected to a power supply.

  • Publication number: 20040264211
Abstract: In a two-way backlight assembly and a two-way LCD apparatus, the two-way backlight assembly provides light emitted from one light source to a first direction where a main LCD panel is placed and to a second direction where a sub LCD panel is placed. Also, a sub mold part for receiving the sub LCD panel comprises a black-colored material so as to prevent reflection of the light. Accordingly, thickness and power consumption of the backlight assembly may be reduced and display quality may be also improved by preventing leakage of the light at ends of the sub LCD panel.

  • Publication number: 20040212757
Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display apparatus (600) having enhanced axial brightness as well as embodying a thin and lightweight LCD. A first light (L1) generated from a light source (120) is incident to a light guiding plate (200). A path of the first light is changed by the light guiding plate (200), and a third light (L3) exits toward a reflecting plate (300). Then, the third light (L3) is reflected on the reflecting plate (300) to be changed into a second light (L2) with enhanced axial brightness. The third light (L3) is converged to be the second light (L2) with enhanced axial brightness by the reflecting late (300) with a surface structure having a triangular prism shape. Thus, the liquid crystal display apparatus is capable of enhancing the axial brightness as well as minimizing the overall dimension and weight.
